If Jerry sloan retires without winning coach of the year, it’s a damn shame. He should have won atleast one ring with his dynamic duo (damn you, Michael Jeffrey), but this is insane.

amen to nothing_personal, as much as i dislike the jazz (at least the version with the mailman and stock), coach sloan needs at least one COTY award. if he retires without one, it’d be the magnitude of kobe being done with his career without an MVP.

Don’t start with me, Russ. I just came back from Penn State hoops media day. The preseason optimism is blinding. Literally — I can’t see as I type this.
Jared says:
what’s valuable about kobe? that he wanted the best player (and most valuable) traded so he could get more shine? that the most his team will win is high 40’s? That he won’t get out of the first round by himself? He might be the most talented player, but the most valuable?

There have been plenty of season’s Sloan got robbed! and at least one season the Jazz were robbed of a chip but the COY has never really gone to someone that deserved it like Avery Johnson, seriously all he did is follow exactly what Nelson was doing and let the defense coach have a little more say!

Oh and with Bobby sloan gone it’s more likely he’ll coach til his very last breath of air!
