I won the rights to this by running my mouth, so with this preview that is all I am gonna do. Run my mouth about the team that is NOT the Run TMC Warriors that made small children happy, cured cancer, and brought the messiah of basketball and gay haters to Oakland. The Warriors of today are a far cry from that. First let’s all reminisce about last year.
Golden State had their run and gun style, and had their moments throughout the year with new old coach Don Nelson replacing as good as dead Tim Montgomery to lead the team through its ups and downs. Nelson then decided to trade away half the roster to get Stephen Jackson, Weird Al Harrington, Sarunas Jasikevicius (who just opted out) and forward Josh Powell (who should have stayed at NC State for more than a year). They then went on to make the 8th seed, creating the ‘We Belive’ Slogan and UPSETTING THE WORLD (and Dallas) to advance to play and get destroyed by the Utah Jazzy Fizzles. This year Baron Davis looks like he is on the way to another great year, but starting a book club? I mean sure B-Diddy can shoot the rock and give enough dimes to feed all the homeless people in California for a year, but he gets hurt more than his old knees can afford and is starting to give glimpses of becoming the next Nick Van Exel with all the mileage he’s put on those knees.
Kelenna Azubuike is by far the most entertaining player on that team. I guarantee that he will put fans in the seats and forget that Jason Richardson is gone off to BETLand. Marco Belinelli is the dark horse on that team. He is a lights out shooter and those Euro boys can sure shoot, look at Dirk, that’s Marco Belinelli 3000 right their, so to Nellie: PLAY HIM, OR LOSE GAMES. Stephen Jackson isn’t the same player he was when he got in that infamous brawl way back when. But he did get that new ink over the summer (praying guns, and they say Deshawn Stevenson has bad taste), which scared Don Nelson enough into promoting him and former Philly bench warmer Matt Barnes with captain badges for their heroics in last years playoffs. What do those mean? They mean about as much as Shaq’s cop badge.
The team is still Baron’s and will be until B-Diddy can’t do it no more so have fun with those irrelevant C’s fellas. In other news, Andris Biedrins IS A BEAST. WATCH OUT FOR HIM OR HE WILL SEND YOUR SHOT ON A EURO TRIP. Mickeal Pietrus is also being slept on and had an unhappy summer, but that Frenchman will throw it down like Napoleon Bonaparte on your @SS so don’t leave him a lane open.
Newcomers are headed by Brandan Wright,whom Michael Jordan drafted but traded to get J-Rich. When seeing Brandon play at UNC two things came to my mind
1. Mr. Stretch is real?
2. I need to donate to UNICEF A.S.A.P - Save Africa!!!
Brandon- gain some weight and you and those vines you use for arms will be just fine.
Other new fellas are Austin ‘Awesome’ Croshere, Troy Hudson, Steven ‘Lamb chop’ Lasme, and Kosta Petrovic. Besides Awesome Croshere (who can rebound pretty good for a white hot eboy), that is an unproductive bunch that should get as many combined minutes as Troy Hudson sold rap albums.
Anyway this season i predict they win 40 - 42 games and get 3rd in their division. That’s either the 8th, 9th, or 10th seed. So to all you Warriors fans, sorry you didn’t get to write this. Blah Blah Blah, I should have wrote the Bobcats preview. EBOY, KEN, SAM THE MAN, AND EVERYBODY ELSE HOORAY FOR ME MR. 100,000! Please comment below.

Wow, BETCATS, I loved this preview. And the cartoon SJax was funny. I think you got it right with this team. They’ve got a nice talented group but it all revolves around BDiddy and his fragile knees. If he can hold up, they’ll be in the playoffs, scaring the crap out of opponents again. Great for them, and great for us fans who love Nelly-Ball!!

I was exchanging preseason pics with my boy in London –shouts to Steve Noble, you’re probably not reading this, and he hit me with a list but I was compelled to break down almost every team in the league.

Entertaining preview BETcats! I think the Warriors will finish second in their division behind the Suns & probably finish somewhere around 44-40. Don’t sleep on B.Diddy this year, if he can keep his minutes down (don’t laugh) he might be able to play 60+ games. Again great job!

If those Euro boys can shoot what happened to Sarunas Jasikevicius??? If you’re an internation player to survive in NBA you need to either be 7 feet tall and shoot 3’s (Dirk, Okur, Bargnani) or you need to be able to play defense (Ginobilli, Diaw, Gasol, Kirelenko)… Belinelli is not either of those 2 things… He’s more like Gordan Giricek 3000….

PS. i’m a bit less optimistic than you are about the Warriors’ playoffs chances however.. and i think Monta Ellis is a smaller but just as curious looking version of Barbosa, which makes me want to see him continue to progress..

betcats, you tard. i used a “(” in place of a “c”. i know marco can shoot but thats it, he is a giant defensive liability. if you would stay up to date on nba news, you would know that nelson is upset with him for sucking right now. later in the season he might get used to the speed of the game and get some minutes, but for now, its play him and get burned. im not hating because you got 100,000. im hating cause you blew the prize. a short@ss preview that didnt even include monta is simply horrible.

Very entertaining and very frantic preview. Azubuike will hopefully be a revelation but he’s got a lot of people ahead of him in terms of entertainment. Hudson will be seeing time if he can hack it 1)to rest Baron 2)Monta’s rock handling is very, very suspect. Young Tay’s dimes to turnovers ratio is often upside down. B-Diddy/Boom-Dizzle/Too Easy is in charge, you are right. The Gully State Warriors had Troy Murpy and Lil’Dun sharing Captain duties with Baron at the start of last season, but that appears to have been a sneaky ass way for Nelson to sell Mullin on the need for a trade. Basically it all looks like Nellie is doing his freaking thing and it’s going to be insane. No rookie predictions here, too up in the air. Nice mouth runnin’ sir.

this post was definitely more about BETcats than warriors, there’s only a handful of post that mentions the warriors.
people are wrong saying they can’t count on Baron, i’m confident that i can count on him being injured for about a quarter of regular season. so the warriors making the playoff depends largely on the development of monta and biedrins. monta has the ability to fill the shoes of Jrich, but will need to sharpen his shooting. Biedrins just needs to learn how to stay out of foul trouble. final verdict? the warriors are going to make the playoff only if the lakers implode.

it’s easier to count on Baron’s knee blowing up and be surprised when they make the playoff than to hope everyone will be healthy and be disappointed when they miss the playoff. get what i’m saying? expect less and be happy with what you get (which is a loser mentality, really, but rooting for warriors takes a toll on you). bay area loves basketball, so you can be sure that all the games are gonna be loud as hell, but crowd support doesn’t heal any injuries or prevent them from happening.

Hishman here is my Pacers Preview 10-82, JO and the entire team request a trade after going 10-0 because Celtics dont make good GM’s (mchale, Ainge, Bird are all horrible) and the rebuliding an already rebulding process begins, they select OJ Mayo number 1 and go on to suck 20-72 the year after that despite me (yes i get signed) averaging 100 points a game. -fin

Warriors were the hottest team at the end of last season and managed to beat Dallas fair and square. Now they are a year older, wiser, and more sane hopefully. J-Rich is gone but between Azubuike and Belinelli that loss wont be felt. Also Troy Hudson and Austin Croshere are good additions that will allow the starters to rest this time around, because against Utah it was clear they were fatigued. Don’t see how anyone could think they dont make the playoffs.
