Why Doesn’t the NBA Have Its Own Hall of Fame?
Because, friends, that would make far too much sense. And you should know that common sense is against our policy.

if you read the Marc Stein story, he has some sour grapes that media members don’t vote for the HOF, committees do. The baseball HOF is in the hands of writers and it’s the most sanctimonious thing ever.

Look folks, face facts. Coaches win games. They’re old and wise. Nikolotichivarez Szuzawolvjkedizeit, coach of the national team from the monarchy of Zuchifoldian for 15 years is a much more deserving entry than perennial loser Dominique Wilkins. C’mon, the guy won the Golden Goat Goblet 4 years in a row.

serious;y though, i think this decision is a function of stern’s internationalism. guy’s many steps ahead of us when it comes to this whole marketing the nba deal. the baseball HOF seems a little xenophobic, really. by allowing itself to be judged than to judge, those that do make it are surely truly deserving. HOF MUST NOT BE DECIDED BY THE MEDIA, like almost everything else is these days.

whatever form it takes, something needs to be done to address the HOF’s omission of Artis Gilmore which Sports Illustrated recently called “basketball’s biggest embarrassment.” In 1993, I was dumbfounded that Gilmore was not a first ballot inductee.
