Who the hell do the heat have that anybody even wants?

He’s be a good fit for them, as dude can score. But isn’t he about 10 years too young for the Heat? Also, can you even imagine the partying this cat would do in South Beach? He’d make Vin Baker look Amish.

shaq, wade, penny, ricky, antoine, williams, zo. this roster sounds as nasty as the knicks

Myles Brown says:
I wanna keep Ricky. For now. He’s in the last year of his contract and should be able to fetch a decent deal if Minny does trade him. And yeah, the Heat don’t have anyone the Wolves should want.

Myles Brown says:
Jason Williams or Michael Doleac? GTFOH!

white hot eboy says:
Wolves want expiring deals and post scoring. That’s what the article said. Heat have exp. deals (eboy)& post scorers (Doleac, yeah right, but his deal is expiring this year too)

white hot eboy says:
It’s about the contracts Myles. Minny’s not going this year, no matter.

Sep.27 at 12:28 pm

Myles Brown says:
Ricky’s contract is expiring. Why trade one dead contract for another? Especially if Minny is the one giving up the only worthwhile player in the deal?

Sep.27 at 12:29 pm

Myles Brown says:
And if they really wanna trade someone, they should start with Theo Ratliff and his $12mil.

Sep.27 at 12:32 pm

white hot eboy says:
The Heat will take on Ricky’s deal as a “rental”. They will try to put anything together to make a run in the East this season. Next year’s Heat squad will have a lot more cap space than this one so if Ricky was to behave and produce it would be worth the one-year commitment.

Myles Brown says:
It’s a good deal for Miami, not for the Wolves. Ricky Davis, crazy as he is, is still a good player and with an expiring contract alongside that talent, he should be able to fetch a much higher price than JW. And especially Doleac. Plus the Wolves already have two unorthodox PGs and four lumbering big men. Adding either one of those Heat players is just more of the same. In fact it might be worse.

I doubt it will happen, though.

Matt Sergent says:
Ah his return to Miami… have fun on the bench again…

Sep.27 at 12:52 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
Ah the old “entice Minnesota with white guys” trick. Kevin McHale should see right through that.

Sep.27 at 12:55 pm

Cheryl says:
McHale is no mensa member, Russ. Besides, this is more than likely much ado about nothing. The Heat have been real successful in working trades and signing quality players this summer… oh, wait!

Sep.27 at 12:55 pm

white hot eboy says:
Matt, if they got him, he would start while Wade was out early and would play heavy minutes off the bench the rest of the year.

Sep.27 at 1:27 pm

Joel O's says:
If they got him, he’d be their best guard besides DWade. He’d probably be able to contribute heavily, like he did in Boston when he was surrounded by talented guys. Great move for Miami… I hope it happens because I don’t want to see Shaq’s career go out with a whimper.

ForzaMilan says:
Concur with JO. He’s grown quite a bit in Sota, no? He’s not a bad fit on any team, I think.

Heat is trying to make the NBA All-Crazy Team… I’m just saying…

the all crazy team happens when ron ron moves at the trade deadline to the knicks. the heat aren’t getting greedy davis, tho it might get them to they playoffs if they did. flash needs someone to be a second scoring option, and those 2 or three possessions a game where shaq looks like shaq aren’t gonna cut it.

White Hot…. didn’t Ricky get caught at the Canadian border with weed during the season that Mase was also in Miami?

Sep.27 at 3:22 pm

white hot eboy says:
Those were good times here, I tell you, Justin.

Sep.27 at 3:26 pm

PG27 says:
That would be hot!

Sep.27 at 3:29 pm

Justin says:
Actually I enjoyed that team a lot. Bowen/Mase/Grant/Jones/Hardaway. That was the season Zo came back and the end of the year and Paul Silas got his revenge in the Playoffs.
I saw my first game in the Triple A that year against the Lakers. Half the crowd was cheering for Shaq. Little did they know….. http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/MIA20001219.html

Wow, it would be pretty cool to see Ricky come back to Miami. Didnt Pat Riley cut Ricky during the 90’s when he tried out for the Heat?

chronically_ill says:
Co-sign on Mase. Big, burly rebounder that could dish the rock.

love this for the heat

A pot-head named Ricky playing ball in Miami? Should i assume that he will end the season playing with the Toronto Agronaughts?
