The Marion Issue

by Marcel Mutoni

You really have to feel for the Phoenix Suns these days. Well, as much as one can feel for a title contender, a squad boasting three superstar talents, running the most enjoyable offense, and playing half of their games in a city with a spectacular climate.

As you know, not all is peaches and cream in the Valley of the Sun. And the reason for the locker room acrimony is Shawn Marion who, simply, is a bit of a baby. So much so that those who follow the team closely are worried about what Grant Hill’s arrival will do to the Matrix’s fragile psyche. From the East Valley Tribune:

But there is concern among the Suns coaching staff and front office that Marion’s grousing will become even louder if Grant Hill gets some of his shots and publicity.

Unreal.

Lets put things into perspective here: As the newspaper article points out, Shawn Marion is not only the team’s highest paid player, but he took the most shots and played the most minutes last season. In other words, what else does the guy want? A piggy back ride up and down the floor? Perhaps a shoulder rub from Steve Nash during timeouts?

If Marion keeps this up, and with the option to opt out of his contract following the ‘07-’08 season, the Suns might be forced back to the negotiating table with teams like Utah.

Marion is a whiny bitch.

Sep.13 at 12:11 pm

Shawn Marion is angry this article wasn’t longer.

Sep.13 at 12:12 pm

Jukai says:
First As an avid Suns fan, I’ll be the first to say “GOD DAMNIT”

Sep.13 at 12:12 pm

Adrian says:
Shawn Marion is angry that this article about him mentioned his salary, Grant Hill, Steve Nash, the Phoenix Suns and basketball in general.

Sep.13 at 12:13 pm

Jukai says:
Or third. Damn you guys.

Sep.13 at 12:13 pm

Jukai says:
Or third. Damn you guys.

Sep.13 at 12:14 pm

jbn74sb says:
Shawn Marion would be a slightly above average player outside of the Suns system, without Nash.

Sep.13 at 12:15 pm

white hot eboy says:
We’re all just living in the Matrix.

Sep.13 at 12:15 pm

Myles Brown says:
Exactly. I want him to be the star on another team so that he can officially be the last person to realize this.

Sep.13 at 12:15 pm

Mo Charlo says:
Anything to weaken the comp in the West makes me a little happy. But it’s too bad that this has to happen to a team like PHX.

Sep.13 at 12:16 pm

Myles Brown says:
For a guy who cant shoot, handle the ball or pass very well he’s done well for himself though.

Sep.13 at 12:17 pm

H to the izzo says:
Get in line behind me Myles?

Sep.13 at 12:18 pm

H to the izzo says:
No need for a question mark. And waiting for someone to point out that Marion did well pre-Nash

Sep.13 at 12:18 pm

orteezy says:
i hope he reads these posts and figures out how much of an idiot he is for this…QUIT UR B!TCH!N…play ball

Sep.13 at 12:19 pm

Reggie Evans says:
He wants to be on the cover of Slam. By himself.

Sep.13 at 12:20 pm

Myles Brown says:
He was an All Star, but Marbury and STAT might’ve made that happen too.

Sep.13 at 12:23 pm

H to the izzo says:
Another reason would be that the Suns were pretty sh*t pre Nash

Sep.13 at 12:25 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
Shawn Marion refers to himself exclusively in the 17th person.

Sep.13 at 12:25 pm

Myles Brown says:
They were still a playoff team and they put a scare in the Spurs that one year. And they had Kidd before that. They were always a decent team, just not the power they are now.

Sep.13 at 12:27 pm

white hot eboy says:
Mutoni, the only thing that should be corrected in your assessment of the Matrix is that he is not a superstar. Nash and STAT are franchise players. Marion is an exceptionally good role player.

Sep.13 at 12:27 pm

H to the izzo says:
Sh*t wasn’t the right word,insignificant maybe?

Sep.13 at 12:29 pm

Jukai says:
Exceptionally good role player cause of Nash

Sep.13 at 12:30 pm

Myles Brown says:
Unthreatening?

Sep.13 at 12:32 pm

white hot eboy says:
Inconsequentioal?

Sep.13 at 12:32 pm

Myles Brown says:
Flaccid?

white hot eboy says:
Sackless?

Sep.13 at 12:34 pm

H to the izzo says:
Sterile? Oh wait…

Sep.13 at 12:36 pm

Myles Brown says:
So basically, Steve Nash is the Suns V*agra.

Sep.13 at 12:37 pm

Myles Brown says:
Why that word needed censoring puzzles me.

Sep.13 at 12:38 pm

H to the izzo says:
Quaggy?

Sep.13 at 12:39 pm

H to the izzo says:
Isn’t G*d also censored?

Sep.13 at 12:39 pm

white hot eboy says:
Myles, you may have made the first comparison between Steve Nash and a male sexual enhancement drug in sportswriting history.

Sep.13 at 12:40 pm

white hot eboy says:
What about God Shamgod?

Sep.13 at 12:41 pm

H to the izzo says:
Or is it Goddamn?

Sep.13 at 12:41 pm

MagicMike2k7 says:
What a nagger.

Sep.13 at 12:43 pm

Reggie Evans says:
The Suns were Nashless pre-Nash.

Sep.13 at 12:43 pm

Myles Brown says:
I’m an innovator. But the first instance in general was when Cossell referred to Namath as the Jets p*nis pump. I also pay respect to the greats.

Sep.13 at 12:44 pm

H to the izzo says:
Myles:Didn’t Max Airington have a low opinion of Nash?

Sep.13 at 12:47 pm

Myles Brown says:
I’ve reached my g*y/sexual innuendo quota for the week now. Max and I respect Mr.Nash, we just don’t think he was a back to back MVP.

Sep.13 at 12:47 pm

Zee says:
He’s acting like the maTRICK right about now. Why are you worried about Grant Hill taking your shine?

Sep.13 at 12:47 pm

white hot eboy says:
Myles, I’m glad you didn’t go to the Cossell/Alvin Garrett incident.

Sep.13 at 12:49 pm

Myles Brown says:
If I’m ever gonna go on a “little monkey” rant eboy, I’ll just focus on Billy Packer.

Sep.13 at 12:50 pm

H to the izzo says:
If someone other than Kobe (sorry) wins the MVP,the award should hold about as much respect as the Hall of Fame

Sep.13 at 12:50 pm

Reggie Evans says:
Steve Nash was not worthy of an MVP.

Sep.13 at 12:51 pm

phunkykarma says:
Hope he’ll stay in phoenix.

Sep.13 at 12:51 pm

white hot eboy says:
Lebron get’s no shine, Izzo? Wouldn’t both teams be equally horrible without them?

Sep.13 at 12:53 pm

RIGGS says:
marion wants his uniform retired….with him still in it.

Sep.13 at 12:55 pm

H to the izzo says:
Lakers without Kobe(and Phil Jackson, who will retire the second Kobe leaves) wouldn’t be up to D-League.And LeBron’s gonna get his MVP without a doubt maybe even multiple MVP’s,but Kobe won’t and that would severely hinder the credibility of the Lig

Sep.13 at 12:55 pm

Myles Brown says:
I’m not gonna “f*g out” on Kobe, but he only deserved it in 05-06. And Bron could’ve easily taken it that year too. But I’ll still hold being in the Eastern Conference against him.

Sep.13 at 12:57 pm

Ben Collins says:
I always heard there was a rift between him and Amare from, like, the day they met. It’s a double-edged sword: Marion only works on the Suns, but the Suns probably only work with Marion. His open floor rebounding is unreal, but he’ll get ten rebounds ALL SEASON on the Jazz with the way they play.
He’s only a franchise player on one other team in this league and it’s the Warriors. I hope that m*n realizes that.

Sep.13 at 12:58 pm

white hot eboy says:
24 better put together a 55+ win season to get a trophy. If he can get that done, he’ll get the nod.

Sep.13 at 12:59 pm

Reggie Evans says:
o crap this has turned into a kobe discussion. abort! abort!

Sep.13 at 12:59 pm

Adrian says:
Izzo, so it couldn’t have gone to Duncan?

Sep.13 at 1:00 pm

Myles Brown says:
The Lakers are winning 50+ this year. You heard it here first. Derek Fisher is gonna make a world of difference. And Mihm isn’t great, but he’s still a decent center when healthy. Maybe one of them’ll get the MVP.

Sep.13 at 1:00 pm

H to the izzo says:
I think that Marion would like the fact that we’re talking about another player on a thread about him

Sep.13 at 1:00 pm

Myles Brown says:
And that is the last I shall speak of “that guy” in this post.

Sep.13 at 1:02 pm

H to the izzo says:
I never thought he deserved it last year but,if his career ends MVP-less doesn’t seem right and he only has a two or three year window in which he’l be able to play to that level

Sep.13 at 1:03 pm

Myles Brown says:
….

Sep.13 at 1:04 pm

ALX8725 says:
Shawn Marion will probably never realize how good he has it at PHX… until they get rid of him

Sep.13 at 1:04 pm

white hot eboy says:
Top 5 MVP canidates for the coming season: The Robot
Nash
Dirk
Lebron
& the dark horse, (or milk chocolate horse) Melo. I know I’ll get killed for it, but I think he has a huge season and the Nuggets will make a move up from 1st round exiting.

Sep.13 at 1:04 pm

Myles Brown says:
Dirk? Dirk?!

Sep.13 at 1:05 pm

H to the izzo says:
So,how about those Knick?

Sep.13 at 1:06 pm

H to the izzo says:
They’ll give it to Jerome James before they give it to Melo

Sep.13 at 1:07 pm

Myles Brown says:
I don’t know I kinda agree with that one. But Dirk?

Sep.13 at 1:08 pm

white hot eboy says:
Yes Myles, Dirk. Without Dirk the Mavs are the Pacers. And I didn’t say Melo wins it, I think he’ll get consideration.

Sep.13 at 1:09 pm

H to the izzo says:
Thats not to say I don’t think Melo’s good enough,I do but can’t see him getting one short of him putting up 40ppg.
Oh and Dirk!?

Sep.13 at 1:10 pm

Slick Nick Da Ruler says:
Shawn was a better MVP candidate during Steve’s first MVP run. Play wit it?

Sep.13 at 1:10 pm

Myles Brown says:
Dirk could score 81 per game and he ‘aint winning MVP after last year’s choke job. He very well may have deserved it last year, but he’s fighting an uphill battle now. Like Everest uphill….

Sep.13 at 1:12 pm

white hot eboy says:
Well Myles, last I checked MVP trophys are handed out on regular-season performances and if we’re going off the Nash curve, we know you can suck twice in the playoffs and still get top vote totals. And I hate that German bit*h. But I am realistic.

Sep.13 at 1:14 pm

J-Bird says:
Just poppin in to say the Lakers suck! Alright, bye!

Sep.13 at 1:15 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
Correction: Shawn Marion only refers to himself in the third person, then gets mad that it’s not the first person.

Sep.13 at 1:15 pm

Myles Brown says:
I just don’t think people will be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. His leadership and ability to close out was already a lingering question. Then he practically cemented it as fact. I hope he bounces back just for the sake of that team, but thats about it. No MVP.

Sep.13 at 1:16 pm

white hot eboy says:
I like J-Bird!!!!!!!!!

Sep.13 at 1:17 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
Has anyone ever won the MVP the year after they weakly slapped a bench player and run away? Kareem, maybe.

Sep.13 at 1:17 pm

H to the izzo says:
Nash probably would have deservedly won last year had he not won it the year before undeservedly.

Sep.13 at 1:19 pm

Myles Brown says:
What about Mike and Reggie’s cat fight? That was despicable.

Sep.13 at 1:20 pm

white hot eboy says:
I have an easy solution, give it D-Wade!!!! I haven’t played the homer card in 15 months.

Sep.13 at 1:21 pm

Myles Brown says:
Maybe in a wheelchair basketball league.

Sep.13 at 1:21 pm

Myles Brown says:
You had to see that one coming.

Sep.13 at 1:22 pm

white hot eboy says:
Myles, let’s not go into 24’s backstory of fistacuffs. Chris Childs owned Mambacita and his tussle with Reggie was hysterical.

Sep.13 at 1:22 pm

H to the izzo says:
….or the WNBA

Sep.13 at 1:22 pm

Myles Brown says:
But he looked tough in that Sprite commercial. And Mike Miller don’t want it…

Sep.13 at 1:23 pm

white hot eboy says:
Myles, 24 could probably r*pe his was to a trophy if he had his way with the female voters.

Sep.13 at 1:24 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
Much as I despise the Heat, I’d love to see Shaq come in focused and motivated and in shape and average like 32 and 14 this year.

Sep.13 at 1:25 pm

white hot eboy says:
Izzo, shouldn’t people who can play basketball speak in terms of manliness? That would leave you out, son.

Sep.13 at 1:26 pm

white hot eboy says:
Russ, you’re being funny again.

Sep.13 at 1:26 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
Oh, I know there’s no way it ever happens. I can dream, though.

Sep.13 at 1:26 pm

Myles Brown says:
Shaq might be motivated by being somewhat emasculated in the off season. Maybe Riles should wear a Shaunie mask…

Sep.13 at 1:27 pm

Holly MacKenzie says:
Eboy…I left a message for you in the Gil post. Not sure if you got to see it, but I notice you updated your blog. Keep it up. As for Marion… after reading O7 Seconds or Less, I feel like a teacher who has empathy for the boy who feels like he is lost in the shadows. Even when he is getting serious $$$ and those shadows include Amare, Nashy and Barbosa.

Sep.13 at 1:28 pm

Myles Brown says:
And just for literary purposes, shouldn’t the proverbial sleeping giant now be known as Shaq?

Sep.13 at 1:30 pm

white hot eboy says:
Thanks, Holly. I saw it. And yes, Myles, Shaq has been sleepwalking since June ‘06.

Sep.13 at 1:31 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
Shawn Marion has a max contract and is the highest-paid player on the Suns. He’s been an All-Star and a member of the Senior National Team. If he STILL needs constant validation, I’m sorry, there’s something very wrong with him. In other words, they should trade him to the Knicks ASAP. David Lee and Renaldo Balkman would fill his role in Phoenix quite well, I’d think.

Sep.13 at 1:33 pm

Myles Brown says:
“Maybe he wasn’t hugged enough as a child…”

Sep.13 at 1:34 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
Which means he’s be a PERFECT Knick. Plenty of huggin’ goin’ on up in there, apparently.

Sep.13 at 1:39 pm

Captain America says:
Marion needs a move. Suns need to move him.

Sep.13 at 1:42 pm

Holly MacKenzie says:
ahaha Russ. your comments alone leave me cracking up.

Sep.13 at 1:47 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
Thanks! I should try and get a writing gig with SportsCenter. Although I’d be fired for inappropriate comments within a week.

Sep.13 at 1:47 pm

RV says:
Oden is out for the season…

Sep.13 at 1:51 pm

Holly MacKenzie says:
yowza…. RV, just caught that as well. That is a toughhhh break. I want to see what the prob was. Whether it was articular, menescis, etc. Woww. I knew that didn’t feel right, they way they were announcing that MRI and then scope.

Sep.13 at 1:52 pm

white hot eboy says:
Why is THAT story not up here yet. It’s not on ESPN.com either.

Sep.13 at 1:53 pm

Holly MacKenzie says:
Blazers expected to make an announcement soon. Gah.. stay strong kid.

Sep.13 at 1:53 pm

H to the izzo says:
Holly please let it be that you and RV are joking. And you’re crazy for leaving out Van

Sep.13 at 1:54 pm

Hisham says:
Mylestone!! (stupid pun) has there ever been a quicker 100 comments? and on a non-kobe post!

Sep.13 at 1:55 pm

white hot eboy says:
That is straight bullsh*t for Oden Prime.

Sep.13 at 1:55 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
Source? Google News didn’t have anything. Not that I don’t believe you fine folk. And if it IS true, ESPN better send some emergency vehicles to Henry Abbott’s house ASAP.

Sep.13 at 1:55 pm

Hisham says:
wow is that true?? damn..

Sep.13 at 1:57 pm

Hisham says:
nothing on nba.com yet, either

Sep.13 at 1:57 pm

Holly MacKenzie says:
Russ, its on yahoonews its just the AP report for now.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AnljEyF70WtxN7OglFDk3eE5nYcB?slug=aw-oden091307&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

Sep.13 at 1:58 pm

Myles Brown says:
Damn.

Sep.13 at 1:59 pm

H to the izzo says:
I think I’ll wait for the announcement before I start believing

Sep.13 at 2:00 pm

Holly MacKenzie says:
It still just says exploratory surgery on his knee in Vancouver. If he has only had the scope but will be lost for the season does that indicate that there will need to be another surgery?

Sep.13 at 2:01 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
Man. Sam Bowie 3000 it is. Crazy.

Sep.13 at 2:02 pm

H to the izzo says:
He’s not even getting the chance to be Sam Bowie

Sep.13 at 2:03 pm

Holly MacKenzie says:
Just weirds me out that this news has leaked already when the original scope was only this morning. Sure aren’t wasting any time. Makes me worry.

Sep.13 at 2:05 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
By the time he gets to play in an NBA game, he’ll be older than Satchel Paige. By which I mean older than Satchel Paige is now.

Sep.13 at 2:07 pm

H to the izzo says:
Thats if he gets to play at all,but I don’t even want to think about that now

Sep.13 at 2:08 pm

white hot eboy says:
Russ, isn’t it a little early for jokes on the kid? That’s a Ryan move. For shame.

Sep.13 at 2:11 pm

Ryan Jones says:
Hi!

Sep.13 at 2:12 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
I feel as badly for him as anyone else. But the bottom line is, he still has a guaranteed contract, and he’ll probably be good to go at full strength at some point. While he’s still, um, young.

Sep.13 at 2:12 pm

Myles Brown says:
Plus his social security should be kicking in any day now….

Sep.13 at 2:15 pm

416 says:
iv been waiting for his nba debut since he was in high school

Sep.13 at 2:16 pm

white hot eboy says:
How do you spell ospiosperosis?

Sep.13 at 2:18 pm

Adrian says:
Greg Olden….damn that sucks.

Sep.13 at 2:41 pm

Dennard says:
When the words “exploratory surgery” are used, I knew that this wasn’t going to end up well for GO. I hate that for the kid.

Sep.13 at 3:08 pm

jbn74sb says:
So many comments, so many thoughts.
1. Lamar Odom (if healthy) would be a better fit than Marion on the Suns. Bigger, stronger, a much more well-rounded offensive game, and cool with being the second banana. N
2. Nash is a phenomenal offensive PG, and a great teammate, but is so bad on D that he never should have won MVP. Again, Quentin Ross scored 20 on him in a playoff game.
3. Russ - Without even looking up the stats, Shaq has never averaged 32 OR 14. What are you smoking to think he could do so at this point of his career, when he can’t even play 30 minutes a night? Even eboy knows that’s not happening. In fact, I think a reasonable Miami fan would be happy with half that production (16 and 7, for the math dolts) if he could do it for 70 games.

Sep.13 at 3:13 pm

sjeezy says:
sometimes i dont get players deals, shawn marion is probably the most all around player behind kg, but aside that fact, what is he complaining about, he ges paid the most on his team and proly gets most of the touches from nash, and now he’s crying about if grant gets touches, come on shawn, ur betta dan dat

Sep.13 at 3:30 pm

Young Chris #3 says:
Shaq needs to average AT LEAST 20+ and 10 to get the haters to stop hatin (as well as giving his team any hopes of contending without an upgrade of Artestian proportions). KG for 2007-2008 MVP

Sep.13 at 3:36 pm

jbn74sb says:
Young Chris - It’s not happening. Last year, Shaq averaged 17.3 and 7.4 in 28 mins. The year before, 20.0, and 9.2, in 30 mins. He’ll be lucky to maintain last years numbers.

Sep.13 at 3:39 pm

white hot eboy says:
He’s going to be motivated this year, Bodie. Divorce and anger will make you do crazy things. Like play hard.

Sep.13 at 3:41 pm

white hot eboy says:
I still think he’ll get around 18/8. And I think he’ll play 65 games.

Sep.13 at 3:44 pm

jbn74sb says:
Yeah, I guess the $20,000,000 to work from October through April and professional pride didn’t provide enough motivation…

Sep.13 at 3:58 pm

TheTruthSquad says:
Both Amare and Shawn need to check their ego at the door and quit trying to be the man. If they were not playing basketball for millions, they would be sweeping floors for minimum wage. They should remember what they have and just grow up.

Sep.13 at 4:25 pm

James says:
Not that this means much, but april of 2003 (pre Nash) i got 2nd row seats, center court to a suns game for $40. They weren’t never gonna be nothin without Nash.

Sep.13 at 5:05 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
Bodie: I may have been exaggerating. You’re way too serious when it comes to Shaq. Get help.

Sep.13 at 5:10 pm

Kadavour says:
TheTruthSquad, we missed u at the last Klansmen meeting. give my regards to ur wife. btw, black ppl may not appreciate the connotation of ur comment.

Sep.13 at 5:13 pm

jbn74sb says:
No kidding Kadavour. Truthsquad was out of line.
Russ - May have? Shaq’s best rebounding year was as a rookie, and even then he didn’t average 14 boards.

Sep.13 at 5:28 pm

truthismygame says:
i love Marion’s game.. but his over-sized ego’s popped up every time his name has popped up over the past few years, from interviews to magazine features to postgame/pregame clips.. its like he thinks he’s the greatest thing to happen to basketball this decade.. and if he’s gettin paid the most and is already takin the most shots, what else does he want?!

Sep.13 at 5:40 pm

Tarzan Cooper says:
140?!!?? goddamn! doesnt even look like anyone mentioned kobe. marion is a great player on any team. i understand a lil of his frustration, he plays kobes every night, runs the floor, hits open threes, and still get 11 boards. his paycheck would be enough for me, but no d steve gets all the credit for that team. if you put the matrix on the spurs=4peat

Sep.13 at 5:47 pm

Kadavour says:
nah, there were a couple Bean comments in here. then supposed 24 boycott resumed

Sep.13 at 5:49 pm

ForzaMilan says:
Nash didn’t make Marion. It just put him in perspective. Really, wouldn’t you pay that kind of money anyway for that kind of production? top 5 rebounder and, I believe, top 30 scorer?

Sep.13 at 5:54 pm

H says:
it is a pity some many athletes behave that way; they give a wrong image to fans

Sep.13 at 5:58 pm

Kadavour says:
Marion just always felt underappreciated and overshadowed. The Suns can’t win as many games without Marion as they did without STAT. Marion has always been a beast on defense, and no one can say that he has Nash to thank for that.

Sep.13 at 6:15 pm

Tarzan Cooper says:
marion is a great rebounder, defender, fastbreak guy, open shot maker, shot blocker, and thief. id say he does alot of things really well.

Sep.13 at 6:20 pm

The Best Yet says:
I agree FULLY with Russ…my hero.
D.Lee and R.Balkman would be welcomed in PHX. although, you’d still have Starbury and Z.Randolph that might still Marion’s shine. Or even Isiah with this r*tarded trial.
Marion needs to know that it’ll never be sweeter than it is in PHX. Nowhere else plays the type of run-n-gun that he would shine in, like in PHX. but hey, he wanna go…go! Ego not needed. and the S.Paige bit on grampa Oden…Classic.

Sep.13 at 6:25 pm

The Best Yet says:
best i came up with was like Otis Thorpe’s uncle or something. Kobe is great, I personally hate him, but nobody’s better. still aint an MVP. he doesnt make his team better. he simply goes on scoring rants in January-February and suddenly he’s top 3 in the polls. bullsh!t

Sep.13 at 7:48 pm

Blue says:
Kadavour: That’s true regarding Marion’s strengths. Having said that, Marion is the invisible man in the playoffs when his team needs him the most. If you can’t thank Nash for his upside, who gets the blame for his downside?

Sep.13 at 7:52 pm

jay n says:
All I know is that when Marion shoots the ball i want to punch my own eyes in,plus he annoys me when he speaks.Kinda like a crackhead.

Sep.13 at 9:57 pm

bootlace says:
Seriously, whats with all the Marion hate? The dude is basicly Dennis Rodman with game. He plays his heart out everygame, doesnt need any plays or touches to get his offensive game going, he can guard 1-4, he does all the dirty work on a Suns team that is just offensive minded, he’s actually the perfect player for the Suns at his position and I’ll stand by that to the end. And sayin he’s only good on the Suns is just a weak ass subjective oppinion that wont hold ground in a proper debate - just look at Nash before he came to the Suns, does that stop people from claiming he’s the best PG ever?

Sep.13 at 10:16 pm

tha sikkness says:
marion IS a great player, but he is breaking a sacred rule in team sports. the suns have the stuff to win it, but if dudes like marion focus on what they AREN”T getting….that just breaks a team’s morale down and makes it damn near impossible to win…..shut up and play.

Sep.13 at 11:24 pm

chiqo says:
marion for williams, wright and haslem. make it happen.

Sep.13 at 11:24 pm

Anyone who is a Suns fan or NBA fan period should appreciate THE MATRIX. He goes all out every night and has no play run for him. If I had Amare and Barbosa on my team I might do the same but you cannot deny that TRIX is dirty regardless of his psyche.

Shawn Marion put up the exact same numbers with Stephon Marbury that he put up with Steve Nash. he was putting up 17 and 10 by his second year in the league. The fact that people think that Nash is the only reason why he is good is probably why he’s pissed.
