There are a few teams over here in Europe paying lots of money for these kind of players, so most definately they don´t even have to take a pay cut.
The contracts in Europe usually are negotiated so the players don´t have to pay taxes, which means they get all the money they have negotiated.
So if you sign a contract for 2 million Euro a year in Europe it´s like a 4 to 5 million $ contract in the USA. Plus usually your house & car(s) are paid by the club.
