Someone needs to post the YouTube link of the Lil Penny commercial where Nick Anderson is reading SLAM. I’d do it myself, but I have no interest in being one of those “awaiting moderation” people.

SLAM ONLINE | » Penny and Shaq: Fredo returns to Michael’s home says:
[…] Penny Hardaway, he of the unlimited potential in his youth, and extremely limited post-op knees, is returning to Shaq’s side. I can be a misty-eyed sentimentalist as much as the next man, and of course I remember the dominance of that young Orlando team, but what about these incredible quotes from Shaq a few years ago: “The difference between those three is the Godfather trilogy,” O’Neal said in classic Shaq-speak. “One is Fredo, who was never ready for me to hand it over to him. One is Sonny, who will do whatever it takes to be the man, and one is Michael, who if you watch the trilogy, the Godfather hands it over to Michael. So I have no problem handing it over to Dwyane.” […]

First, Reggie (42), then Allan (37), and now Penny (36) all want to make comebacks. Some one needs to start testing NBA players for HGH.

In the words of Scoop: It’s been a long time/I shouldn’t have left you/without a strong game to step to/think of how many weak events you slept through/Shaq-Fu/sorry I kept you. It’s ok now, cause they’re reunited. And it feels so good. Steven I agree, retro the penny II’s now.

It’s funny that Penny and GHill’s careers followed similar paths (GHill missing a lot more time though), but Penny gets nowhere near the same amount of sympathy that Grant does.
Did Penny do something to turn ppl off along the way?

Jukai says:
SA, maybe people get him confused with Tim “Acceptance” Hardaway?
Aug.13 at 10:34 am
cjb says:
i’ll tell you why penny doesn’t gent the sympathy G.Hill Did.
1. the 100 million dollar contract
2. the 100 million dollar nike deal/commercial
grant has received half the money he has yet has been slightly more preductive and nobody’s more humble then g.hill on this planet.

get off of ghill’s jock…..penny donates time and money to help in the community…now if ghill wasn’t able to negotiate a phat sweet contract like penny and chris webber back in the day, that is his fault, his dad was in the NFL, penny did not know his father and handled his biz…wha wha, penny is worth every penny…penny playing for the hell of it and not the money.

I’m real excited Penny’s back. He was my favorite player growing. Now that my fav. Bibby is hurt it’s great to see him on the court again. I’m a Slam subscriber, so it’s good to get him back in the magazine.
God Bless, Chad

go ask T-mac.. go ask anyone wearing a 1 on their jersey who their favorite player was. Go ask MJ who HE picked to be the next Jordan during the ‘95 all star game. Penny was sick, the best in the league at one point. I grew up in orlando, Shaq dug out cus penny was becoming a bigger star than he was. then penny got a bad rep for getting brian hill fired. Penny was just speaking for the team as a captain. there hasn’t been a more humble player than penny. i think if you take all the players in their prime, regardless of career achievments, penny is right there in the top 10-15!!!
