Elton Brand ruptured his achilles tendon today during his workout. According to the LA Times, Brand is out at least two months, though that seems like a conservative estimate.

A good friend of mine did this recently. Granted he’s not a professional athlete, but he did do it playing hoops. Took him 4 months before he was even walking without the boot, much less running. That sucks for EB.

I once saw a volleyball coach rupture it before the state championship match … his team lost it in five games, but they almost pulled off the upset. He was on some serious pain medication. As for the Clips … yeah, they’re screwed. I’m assuming Livingston doesn’t play this year, either.
