Eazy Yi Signs With Milwaukee Bucks
My fellow basketball fans, our long (inter)national nightmare is over: After months of hand-wringing, international intrigue, strange (and often hilarious) requests, frustration, and general confusion, the Milwaukee Bucks have finally inked first round pick Yi Jianlian.
After Bucks owner Herb Kohl made a trip to Hong Kong to conduct personal negotiations with Yi’s representatives, the young Chinese star signed a multiyear deal with the Bucks, ending a saga that began on draft night when he was selected with the sixth overall pick by Milwaukee.
“We all anticipate Yi’s arrival and welcome him and his family to Milwaukee,” Kohl said. “We look forward to a successful relationship for many years to come.”
“We have also secured some of the finest Chinese hotties in the entire city of Milwaukee for Eazy Yi to choose from,” Kohl did not add.
On a serious note, can you imagine how much pressure to perform Yi is going to be under once the season starts? And it will be unfair, because from the day he was drafted, it was painfully clear that his handlers were the ones delaying his signing by making ridiculous demands and threatening that he might just stay in China if the Bucks didn’t trade him.
Best of luck in the League, Yi. You’ll need it.

I have a sneaking feeling that despite all of this he might actually make it. Wouldn’t be the first time I’ve been wrong, mind. Well, at least he can take solace in having the coolest nickname in the L.

Finally Milwaukee Bucks got their man. From watching at the summer league and overseas for last few months, the kid can definitely play. Since he plays like a guard that has the body of a center, there will be match up problems.
I think Yi and Kevin Durant might be contenders of the rookie of the year because durant will get his points because he shoots like 20 to 30 fg attempts per game frow what i saw of him during the summer league games.

Don’t you guys know that Yao beat Shaq in the domestic balloting, too? If everyone in a country just voted for their countrymen, wouldn’t Barbosa have made the All-Star team? Brazil has 1.9 million citizens.

he’s finished Kobe’s gonna do what he did to D12 in his first year. And Show him that league is still dominated by one man.

NZ Baller says:
He could well be an All Star huh? Granted Wang Zhi-Zhi wasn’t, but Yi was a top draft pick and is much more high profile. That would be seriously horrific.

he’s not even that good im still tripping on how they let Corey Brewer get past their way. But hey thats what you get when you have a manger like Larry Harris. I know im from the Mil-town but we gonna get are team back to the playoffs. The last time the Bucks were legit was 2001 (the big 3) after the big 3 left the Bucks were in and out the first round. Im Ghost…!!

bootlace says:
Brazil has 1.9 million ASIAN citizens, their total population is close to 200million. And reason Barbosa wasnt an All-Star is because people care more about soccer there. Wang Zhizhi and Bateer werent as marketable/popular as Yi is and they sucked, Yi WILL make the allstar team.
