Yi to the Knicks?
Plus: Mo Pete to the Hornets
-In a story I linked to in the previous post, there’s a small blurb in the Newsday article mentioning that the Knicks are reportedly interested in Eazy Yi.
The Knicks are believed to be among several teams who have checked with the Bucks about the No. 6 overall pick in last month’s draft, Yi Jianlian, whose agent, Dan Fagen, is said to be trying to push for a trade — and rid the Knicks of some extra bodies is also a possibility.
(Sure, why the hell not?)
-People still can’t believe that Orlando was dumb enough to give Rashard Lewis so much money.
-Mo Pete, prepare yourself to say hello to teal uniforms.
-For the love of God, will someone please pay Mickael Pietrus and Matt Barnes.
-Throw the Pacers into the Mo Williams sweepstakes.
Mark Bartelstein, the agent for free agent Mo Williams, the best point guard still available as a free agent, said he has “had quite a few conversations” with the Pacers since the start of free agency.
(At this rate, I fully expect MLB teams to be vying for Mo’s services by next week.)

The Knicks are going to start “checking on the status of” cats up at Kingdome at this rate. Who aren’t they interested in?

The Knicks are interested in signing me to multi year deal, and I haven’t played organized since 1998. That was in High School.

Yi has been horrible in summer league. I don’t understand the hype surrounding him, sure he’s athletic and quick but he wasn’t even a dominant player in the lackluster CBA.

i heard Pietrus was on French TV saying he wanted to play for the Spurs. Hopefully that horrible trade had something to do with clearing out some salary for Pietrus…God I love offseason rumors..

Yi is legit, the chinese guards made it tough for him to look good. If you saw the games, he was ALWAYS double and triple teamed. Not sure what the Knicks could really offer? They already have 2 bigs in the frontcount. For those that are Yi fans, there’s a new site that follow his every move. http://www.yijianliancentral.com/

damn, i thought shard was gonna get 85 mil, where did the 118 come from? i guess since they got rid of grant hill, they said to themselves,”you know what we need? a good player that we can pay an ungodly amount of money so that we wont have enough to sign other players we need. this way, we’ll be stuck in mediocrity. yea, that sounds great”

The NBA is so watered down these days. They need to trim the fat a little bit, get rid of like 5 or six of these teams, send the less talented guys to the d-league or oversees. That should make things more competitive. They should also do away with these gauranteed contracts so when someone like Jerome James signs for 30 mil and sucks, he can be cut the next season and not get all that cash.

could warriors make foyle give up part of his contract to resign pietrus? him and matt barnes have more to do with GSW furious end-of-season run than foyle. they need to keep them.

the league is as talented as its ever been, cutting one or maybe two teams may help but thats it, without contracts you’d never be able to build teams

I just wanted everyone to know that the Knicks were in town here, scouting some grade schoolers. They are talking to/are interested in everyone under the sun. I guess they don’t want to leave any stone unturned. I’m fully expecting Isiah to be stopping by my house later and expressing interest in me joining the Knicks. I’ll keep you posted.

Breakin’ News: The Yankees have just worked out a sign and trade with the Knicks to aquire Mo Williams. Williams will get “mo” money than what people expected, as his contract is exactly the same as A-Rod’s. The Knicks will receive Roger Clemens, Derek Jeter and Bobby Abreu. This move will put the Knicks 1 Billion Dollars over other the Luxary tax. When Zeke was asked about the trade he said “We believe that Roger Clemens, Derek Jeter and Bobby Abreu can be difference makers”. When asked about the amount of money that his team is over the salary cap Zeke smiled and said “We are glad to be able to be this much over the salary cap. When I was hired this was one of my priorities. We are not done, as we are also trying to get Jason Giambi and Alex Rodriguez”. When asked if he was concered with A-Rod’s clutchness, or lack thereof, Zeke declined to comment.

Yi should stay with the Bucks. It’s bad enough that we’ve got all these star players quitting on teams and demanding trades to organisations of their choice, the last thing we need is a foreign government deciding who gets to play where.
Otherwise we might just as well call it the CBA (Chinese Basketball Association), annoint Yi as the new Jordan and let the All-Star game take place in Beijing (probably the only place on earth where people really believe that Yi and Yao are deserving starters).

For real now, Yi is garbage. The only place he’s gonna do well is in China, and he wasn’t even that good there!

Yo 416… “Cabbie On The Street” is honestly the most annoying interviewer ever. Dude tries too hard to sound “street” but ends up looking like some cartoon character. Admittedly, he does end up getting pretty amusing responses from his interviewees. But a lot of that comes from his really weird questions, or from him getting inappropriately touchy-feely.
