A big part of my job here at SLAM is to develop and maintain relationships with NBA players. This means I’m in regular contact with a wide range of guys, and this also means I randomly get emails and calls from guys who are checking in, begging for a cover, whatever.
A few years ago I got to know Mike James, and found him to not only be quite a character but a prolific emailer. And after Mike’s incendiary appearance on SLAM Radio last year, we knew we had to get Mike more involved with SLAM. For the last year he’s written an advice column for us, and it’s always hilarious, one of my favorite things each issue.
Anyway, Mike emailed me yesterday and asked me to pass along this announcement to all SLAMonline readers…

FREE old school concert: Special Ed, Dana Dane, Just Ice, Sugar Hill Gang, Supa Lover C and Cassonova Rud, Chubb Rock, plus a special guest might be in the building. Rides for kids and food. Church service starts at 10 a.m., the McClurkin Sisters are performing. An all day event
