What about the Timberwolves getting the best of this deal when it’s time for the 2009-2010 playoffs?

Jul.31 at 4:51 pm

Mo Charlo says:
Madtice, wouldn’t that be something. Still, the East should be very, very afraid.

I think the deal works out decently for both teams. The T-wolves were going nowhere this year with or without KG. So now they can play their stable of young guys and start from scratch. I actually like the young team they have but it is going to be hard to keep the young guys happy with minutes however. The T-Wolves would probably love to trade Davis to open up some minutes for guys like McCants, Brewer, Green, and etc but Davis is their only proven wing scorer. For the Celtics adding KG with Allen and Pierce would have really tight if it we were heading into the 2000-2001 season but with as terrible as the east was last year the Celtics have risen to the top of the conference. They just better hope that Rondo is ready to play starter’s minutes at the point. Brevin Knight would be a great pick up for the Celtics.

Ehh.. Lets see how it all works out before we start sucking each other’s you-know-whats, lets not forget that there are a number of teams that have multi-stars, BUT do not have the chemistry together..

McHale finally did something right…best of luck KG, and congrats to the Celtics. The East is gonna be fun this year.

Joel O's says:
I think chemistry shouldn’t be a problem - especially because KG is a big guy. I think star-ridden teams don’t work when you’ve got too many outside / wing players who don’t share the ball well enough: the present-day Nuggets, the old “Big Three” in Milwaukee, the Antoine-Pierce-Payton Celtics, etc. A great post player like KG can only make the game easier and complement Jesus & PP. They need a bench though…

Igor says:
I’m really glad for KG to have a chance to do something while it’s not too late 4 him, but there are still a lot of ?s on Pierce and Allen’s capability!!!

Jul.31 at 8:00 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
Kudos to bay area for his astute comment. Also, this is a better Celtics team than the one that made the Eastern Conference Finals—I don’t care if they have a bench or not. I think I’ve come around on the whole thing—f*ck the future, try and win RIGHT NOW. I still think the Bulls come out of the East next year, but the road just got a lot lumpier.

Russ, speaking of the Bulls—THAT’s who KG should be playing for next year.

grarw, Ray Allen is Jesus Shuttlesworth. Watch He Got Game. Great movie. That being said, I think Boston could make the ECF, but I’m thinking second round. We’ll see how the other two players on the floor fill their roles.
