Plus: Channing Frye sucks?
Pretty boring evening for me last night. I came home tired as hell and went straight to bed. Unfortunately, I was woken up in the middle of the night by the fan crapping out. The damn thing just died, and the temperature in my bedroom was something like 800 degrees.
Were it not for laziness, I would have made the trek to the basement of the house where it’s nice and cool. Instead, I suffered through the heat. Not fun.
Onto to the news & notes:

-Antoine Walker finally talked about the robbery at his home:
“When your life’s threatened, it’s obviously going to take some time to get over it,” Walker said in his first public comments since the robbery. “I’m not Superman.”
“The material things that were taken from me can obviously be replaced,” he said.
“I’m happy that I’m unharmed and safe, and so is my family,” added Walker.
Is this Amare’s new chick? Looks like STAT is following in Carmelo’s footsteps by going with a TV girl.

I’m a Celtics fan and I think Simmons is an idiot. Darko to Memphis doesn’t make a ton of sense to me but if they got him cheap then it might be a good buy. Smart on Darko’s part (or his agent) to only sign for three years. If his numbers blow up so will his next contract.

Nice work from Memphis that got Darko to play in a system closer to the European style of play. Now, send him back to play with his Natonal team every summer, please? Only way for him to develop a post game.

No offense, but I think Simmons was right that New York got the better of Portland in that deal.
And, I think he’s right when he says that having a lot of money makes things easier. Just because Isiah has not done well, although if you look at what Scott Layden did you have to wonder, does not make it not true. If Isiah sucks like most people believe did he wouldn’t do well not matter where he was or how much money the owner had. That rebuttal is stupid.

What did Simmons say that was so bad? Channing Frye hasn’t proven anything, and Channing Frye for Zach Randolph is not a good trade, most people think that they could have gotten more for Randolph. And tell Steve Kerr that Pritchard doesn’t have an advantage while the Suns have to sell off 1st round picks to avoid paying luxury tax. It is an advantage. Where is the controversy?

Channing Frye sucks? After only one season in the NBA with the fing Knikz and he sucks? Simmons got his head screwed upside down. Frye is 7 foot, 21 or 22 yrs old and balled at UAz.Sheez - Kid got pedigree and a decade to grow into his role up in the Rose Garden. Frye and Oden make some sort of Twin Tower thing, especially if they grow huge afros. Frye sucking? musta be Simmons puffin again.
