This year the Pistons care
Flip Saunders. Motivator!
Mutoni and Russ wrote about last night’s games already, so there’s not much that needs to be said. Detroit is supposed to be a good team that gets disinterested and bored and lets teams hang around. Obviously that’s not the case right now. Golden State-Utah was a series that nobody saw coming, and it’s even stranger having two teams that haven’t been to the playoffs in years already in the second round with one of them guaranteed a shot to go to the Finals. After one game, it is a lot of fun. Game two is Wednesday night at 9 EST, meaning Stephen Jackson has 36 hours to stay out of trouble in Utah. Best of luck, sir.
Heroes was on, but I won’t bore you with the details of my personal TV viewing habits that aren’t work related. It was a good but not amazing episode. I had to actually consult The Bible after it was over to try and understand some of the imagery and why certain characters have certain names. Very excited for the season finale. And yes, I am aware that the new character they introduced was the biggest X-Men rip-off yet and that they might as well call her Cerebro.
Oh, I guess I did just bore you with the details of my personal TV viewing habits. Sorry. Uh… nothing further to add. I only wrote this cause I’m used to waking up and writing something about what happened in the NBA last night. Old habits. See you later today.

I kept going back and forth between the Pistons beat down and Heroes. The last five minutes of Heroes was the only part of that episode that did anything for my viewing pleasure. Bring on LOST!

1st! wow. great post Sam. enlightening.
just wanna ask this.. wat happened to the SLAM newsletter? i signed up for it when Lang was still the online editor, and all I got was one newsletter. I thought it was supposed to be weekly? granted, I still check this site OFTEN, but i was just wondering what happened… if i remember correctly, I think there was an article there that was “exclusive”. just wondering.

See, everyone else looks at Heroes and sees X-Men, while I mostly see Watchmen. Yeah, there are a few X-Family homages in there, but the overall plot arc and the structure of the character relationships is straight outta Moore.

Prison Break was pretty good but the story really dragged on for like four seasons.

Here’s the thing about this year’s Pistons, assuming they keep this up: They’re either going to prove that a) Flip Saunders is every bit the coach that Larry Brown is, or b) coaching in the NBA is totally inconsequential. Either way, I’m PSYCHED.

Keith says:
Ryan, your wondering whether Flip is as good a coach as Larry…didn’t Larry destroy the Knicks? Are you saying that Flip is on the verge of ruining an entire franchise and then trading for 7 unusable point guards?

Robbi from the Philippines says:
Elvis: what do u mean dude? Prison Break has lasted for four seasons already? Although yeah, I agree that Season 2 wasn’t even about breaking out of prison. But i mostly meant Season 1. I slept a total of 10 hours in two days just watching that.

2 Reasons why the Pistons will at least make the Finals: 1. Last night, with a 16 point lead Chauncey Billups dove head first between two defenders for a loose ball. Now one can say that the parts on this team are interchangable. That may have some teeth, but take away Billups and this whole buck stops. So if you’ve got that guy going all out like that, that’s a very good sign of what’s going to happen with the rest of the team. 2. As Chris Webber said, “This ain’t last year. Me and McDyess is too hongry. We hongry.” (his words, not mine)

Chris Webber is better than Ben Wallace in so many way’s it’s not funny, and his basketball iq is much higher…advantage Detroit!

Cheryl, LOST is definitely superior to Heroes, but I still love them both.
Newsletter, now that’s a word we’ve got to put it in the comment spam blocker.

And Roger B, you and I have much in common.
Linderman=Ozymandius
Sylar=A watchmaker like Dr. Manhattan before becoming “special”
the whole plot about blowing up NYC to unite the world.
Nathan and Peter’s mom hinting at how she is part of an older generation of heroes.
It goes on and on.

Sam…cheers for ruining Heroes for me. I like in the UK and haven’t had the pleasure of seeing it yet!

The Piston bigs may have chopped up the Bulls D, but make no mistake, Chauncey Billups was the one running the show. That dude is gunning for three letters that begin with “M” this summer—M-A-X.

Sopranos is BACK! It was nervous there for a while but this season has been pretty good. All it took was the over the top slapstick violence.
Excellent points Bigi. We are in agreement.

Heroes does this thing where they have an episode that blows you away and then the next one is like filler to move the story along, its absolutley my favorite show though I have all of them on my ipod.

I read that Josh Hollaway from Lost is going to be playing Gambit in X-Men 4, 5, & 6. If that’s not exciting news then I don’t know what is. (Dude really does resemble him)

Whoa. Now that is very good casting. Calling Kate “Freckles” is a lot like calling Rogue “My Cheri.”
