Gilbert OUT, Bosh IN
NBA blogging is a fickle business
It’s a cold bottom line world, and NBA.com is no exception. Gilbert Arenas was their star blogger all season long. The thoughts that floated in and out of his head were as much of a must read for an NBA fan as anything out there.
Well, now he won’t be on the court, and while he’s rehabbing and playing video games - maybe continuing to blog about his team and rehab, a new superstar is stepping up. Introducing Chris Bosh. Raptors games haven’t exactly been national TV regulars since he came into the league, but they will be soon enough once the playoff starts. From a personality standpoint, Chris is usually described as quiet and intelligent. He claims in this post that he’s not as quiet as everyone thinks he is, so he should have a lot to say. He also goes on to brag about how nerdy he is. Respect that man. And of course there’s the photo over there to the left. I think you’re supposed to keep that eye closed when using a camera.
Don’t expect stream of consciousness one sentence paragraphs about quieting doubters and little dabbles into schizophrenia. Maybe Chris’s blog will be so good that it will motivate Gilbert to come back next year and blog better than ever. Oh my God start the playoffs.

that picture is indeed priceless. he looks like, dare i say, a fierce dinosaur. this reminds of those USA basketball commercials, where everyone (bron, melo, whoever) reads off their cue cards and tries to look like they care, while bosh looks like he’s gonna come whoop yo ass if you don’t support team USA. maybe that’s what canada is doing to him.

“that picture is indeed priceless. he looks like, dare i say, a fierce dinosaur.” So true! In fact me and some of my buddies got to calling him the Boshasaurus, I’d love it if that name stuck with him instead of CB4, with a nickname like that he’d have no choice but to be a raptor for life.

Gotta love both of those guys. I think Bosh has Gil beaten in the photo department right at the moment. Some wacky rehab pics of Zero in his notorious oxygen tent would take care of that.

They announce the awards during the first round. I don’t think Gilbert has been asked to stop or anything, but I just think they’re featuring a player that will be playing.
Even if Bosh is posing for someone taking a photo of him there, it’s just funny for some reason.

I saw that pic on nba.com a while ago and mentioned it in a comment after some unrelated story. It’s like that scene in Naked Gun ‘use your open eye, Frank’.

talking about blogs…. I just want to say first of all I got mad love for Slam. I’m now in the 9th grade and have been down with Slam and been subscribed since 4th grade. I’m also a more than daily reader of slamonline.com. I just started my own blog inspired by a blog on Slam and I hope someday I can become a Slam writer or website blogger for Slam. I just started my blog today at http://dailyballin.blogspot.com/
Thanks for checking it out

Obviously they’re not gonna ask Gil to stop, but you know he’s still gonna feel disrespected.Like his thoughts and witticisms weren’t enough to draw traffic to nba.com!I’m sure Bosh’ll be good, and it’s good an active player’ll be blogging, but when a player’s first blog has the basic message “I’m not as boring as you all think, I swear!”…well it can’t quite match up with Gil’s opening message of “People say I’m quirky.I’m not that quirky.*Proceeds to show how insanely quirky he is*”.

Skeetz, best part about CB4’s front page, by far, is the first thing under the Fan Poll: “Gilbert Arenas is taking his game to new heights.” Yeah, but you’re taking his f*ckin’ blog, aren’t you Chris?

» Gilbert’s blog demise greatly exaggerated - SLAM ONLINE says:
[…] Yesterday I wrote a post featuring a humorous photo of Chris Bosh about how he was the new star blogger for NBA.com, taking Gilbert’s spot. Well… despite not being able to use his legs, Gil is not throwing in the towel. He even mentioned Chris joining him as a blogger with the advice “He should just be himself. He’ll be fine. Just enjoy it. No matter what you say, somebody isn’t going to like it.” Who doesn’t like Gilbert’s blog? What kind of sick creature are you? The point is that Gilbert lives! So what if he’s just hanging out with his money, family and friends, and toys. You can read about what movies he’s watching, how bored he is, and this amazing quote “Unfortunately, I’ve been catching glimpses of my team.” Ah, Gilbert… you truly are just like the rest of us. Keep writing! […]

The city of Toronto is infatuated with Chris Bosh,…Vince Carter was a beloved Raptor,…but the love for Chris Bosh is going to reach the tip of the CN Tower. Vince simply put is stupid and lazy. Chris Bosh smart and self motivated, and because thats the biggest growing trait in the city of Toronto, he will be adored a lot more, and achieve greater heights.
Chris Bosh Raptor for life.
