More Nike Basketball Music
Nike, Premier, KRS, Rakim?
I think I got the same phone call that True Hoop did. Mr. Santos, you two-timer! Anyways, I’m repeating the message, strictly a cut and paste job:
Nike has called upon some of Hip Hops most elite artist to create an original song; Kanye West, Nas, KRS-ONE, and Rakim. There are two versions of the song, “Better Than I’ve Ever Been” (prod. Rick Rubin) and the remix “Classic (Better Than I’ve Ever Been)” (prod. DJ Premier). Rakim is only featured on the remix and not the original.
A video was also created for the DJ Premier remix. All of the audio and video is below. ALL of the money generated from iTunes will be donated to youth charity programs in Baltimore, we are trying to generate as much traffic as possible to the Itunes store to really help the kids out.Purchase from iTunes:AUDIO:WindowsBetter Than I’ve Ever Been (Kanye, Nas, and KRS One - produced by Rick Rubin)Classic (Better Than I;ve Ever Been Remix) (Kanye, Nas, KRS One, and Rakim remixed by DJ Premier)RealBetter Than I’ve Ever Been (Kanye, Nas, and KRS One - produced by Rick Rubin)Classic (Better Than I;ve Ever Been Remix) (Kanye, Nas, KRS One, and Rakim remixed by DJ Premier)VIDEO:“Classic (Better Than I’ve Ever Been DJ Premier Remix)”featuring Kanye West, Nas, KRS-One and RakimWindowsReal
There you have it. They brought out the big guns. Premier, Rick Rubin, Rakim. Not to mention old KRS and Nas and Kanye. So much for Juelz having the commercial to himself. This is fire, albeit unrelated.

Mims is better, cuz he’s hot, and he’s hot cuz he’s better /sarcasm I don’t like the term “real”, becuase its use is dependant on the user(wow bad sentence), but he definitly can chop it up with the best

This is a shameless ploy, and I don’t like how they force the idea of them intentionally producing a “classic” just by putting these guys together…if a song’s a classic it just becomes one, you don’t call it that immediately…

Gord, pretty much like putting ‘All-Stars’ together mid-season and expecting a ‘classic’ right?

Harlem, I think it’s a toss up between Preemo, Pete Rock, and Large Professor(my #1 hip hop producer of all time).

Yo the Premier mix is MUCH BETTER. Legendary MC’s are on this track not watered-down pop acts like most of these bums today. So refreshing to hear actual lyrics not garbage nonsense made for the clubs and pre-teens.

No one talkin about Nasty? He’s only the 2nd best rapper ever right???? Primo>RZA both are put out heat tho

Noyd, Pete Rock is an underrated legend and Large Professor is probably even more slept on than PR. Both are hip hop royalty. However, Primo is Primo, no matter what. I believe that no other producer matches him for representing what East Coast hip hop sounds and feels like.
