Player of the D.A.Y.
He’s not an All-Star.
There really isn’t an obvious one today. Tyronn Lue won the game for Atlanta, but Joe Johnson got them there. The Pistons and Raptors each had a handful of winning contributions in their games. I thought about splitting it between the Raptors PGs, but that would take away from what Bosh did.
So, the Player of the D.A.Y. is Joe Johnson. Snubbed from the All-Star team, he went up against a team that had two all-stars and was the best player on the floor. 49 minutes, 12 of 23 shooting including 4 of 6 from three on his way to 37 and 8. So what if Lue hit the game winner.

Hopefully the Hawks will be better next year so JJ can get a coaches invite to the all-star team.

I’m just surprised Borris Diaw didn’t get an All Star invite - everyone else on the Suns did.

If the trend of popularity for the biggest snubbed player of the East continues (Gilbert Arenas - 2006 - late addition due to injury), Joe Johnson should be starting next year…

Glad you enjoyed the Zach story. When I talked to him after the game that night, he asked me what I was doing later on. I should have tried to party with him and the Hoop Family. It’s my biggest regret of the past 6 months that I didn’t. I could have been corrupted like the kid in Almost Famous!

Joe Johnson is a great player and well deserved of the honours…but has anyone even notice Jose Calderon?—has anyone seen him just humiliate opposing teams?–this guy got snubbed for rookie-sophomore challenge…ppl should watch the raptors more!!!
