Beef: Wade vs. Cuban

A little war of words for your reading pleasure.

by Marcel Mutoni

Mark Cuban is a lot of things: Emotional, funny, brilliant, obnoxious, and extremely protective of his players. The last attribute was on full display yesterday afternoon when he tore into Miami Heat superstar guard Dwyane Wade. Wade, who usually steers clear of controversy and hardly ever says anything noteworthy, made some eyebrow-raising comments to a Miami Herald reporter regarding Dirk Nowitzki:

“At the end of the day,” Wade said, “you’re remembered for what you did at the end. . . . I think that’s the reason — Dirk says they gave us the championship last year, but he’s the reason they lost the championship, because he wasn’t the leader that he’s supposed to be in the closing moments. That’s because of great defense by us, but also he wasn’t assertive enough as a leader’s supposed to be.”

Cuban, as you can imagine, was not amused. And he responded on his blog, using his trademark passive-aggressive approach.

“Say what ? Is this the DWade of some of the lamest , boring commercials known to man ? Commercials that are singlehandedly responsible for selling more commercial skipping Tivos than anything else on TV ?

Dwayne I don’t blame you for not looking at tapes of the finals. You obviously didn’t. You would have seen your unbelievable skills and some other unbelievable elements that if I could discuss honestly here I would get fined for.

You are right, endings are remembered. And the ending of 3 of the games of the Finals will be remembered alongside Game 6 of the King vs Lakers Conf Finals a few years ago.

I know Shaq appreciates your leadership as well. He called out your team a few weeks ago saying it was “embarassing’. Great leadership DWade. Your coach sat players for being fat. I guess you couldnt lead them away from the buffet.

You are an amazing player Dwayne. I love watching you shoot free throws. What you know about Dirk’s leadership skills is non existent. You don’t have a clue. Your ability to evaluate leadership skills….well you obviously have an overinflated value of your own. Did you take business classes at Marquette?

Now we know why Charles won’t put you in his 5.”

Hilarious stuff.

Obviously, Cubes took things way too far, as he is wont to do, but it’s hard to discredit his remarks. After all, a player from the Heat (despite their recent surge) has no business whatsoever talking about leadership this year. However, Wade does raise an important point: Dirk, in the Finals, looked shaky at times, and seemed content to let his teammates decide the outcome of ballgames on too many occasions.

It’s a long shot, but hopefully, Wade gets wind of Cuban’s comments and responds in kind.

(Thanks to reader Reggie Evans for the heads up on this.)

Ron Harper says:
Now this is beef…cuban classics, its refreshing to hear cuban go after a player rather than stern so now maybe we can have a little more straight forward comments about how he feels rather masking it for the sternbot.

Nick The Nugg Doctor says:
I guess when you have the ring from last season you can say what you wish about anybody else, but Wade should have kept his mouth shut. Calling out another player like that was silly, and when you call out one of Cuban’s players… well, expect the clouds to form. Here is tip though. If you are going to call out a particular owner’s players. Call out Stan Kroenke’s of the Denver Nuggets. He never says a peep about anything!

Feb.10 at 2:53 pm

Andy says:
D-wade can say whatever he wants to say. He was the man who single-handedly won the finals last year. Great leaders follow by example, and what better example is there than D-Wade’s performance in the NBA finals last year. Cuban just upset beacause his team blew it last year and he doesn’t have a player nearly as clutch as D-Wade when it comes down to crunch time. What NBA player would you rather have with the ball in crunch time than D-Wade.

Feb.10 at 3:10 pm

Sam Rubenstein says:
If Mark Cuban is so smart he’d know how to spell Dwyane Wade. Cubes makes a lot of solid points here but this definitely emascualtes Dirk a little bit, having his daddy do the talking for him.

Feb.10 at 3:12 pm

mdshuai says:
I don’t know if it’s such a good idea to call out the best player on the team with the best record in the NBA. I mean, what if he takes it as a challenge and starts playing more aggressive and they get better than they already are? Then Dwayne would feel like an idiot, and the mavericks would crush the NBA. As much as I enjoy that train of thought, however, it’s hard to conceive of them playing any better than they have been playing this season…

Feb.10 at 3:17 pm

Kevin Wilson says:
I halfway suspect that Cubes actually knows how to spell Wade’s name but doesn’t really care. The buffet line kills me.

Feb.10 at 3:17 pm

Max Airington says:
Just cause Wade’s momma spelled his name wrong doesnt mean the rest of us should have to also. Everyone has respect for the boy, but he knows good and damn well that he was a beneficiary of some of the most lopsided officiating in Finals history, word to MJ. He was probably just sick of hearing about it and lashed out in a moment of frustration. I hope. Otherwise he should look at the standings and realize that the Heat just might go home in the first round this year. Then maybe he’ll revise some of his quotes about leadership.

Feb.10 at 3:19 pm

mutoni says:
re: wade’s first name. it’s a bitch to spell. i always have to double check on his player profile to make sure i got right.

Feb.10 at 3:56 pm

h-wag says:
I can remember some difficult made shots and great assists by Dirk at the end of the last 2 Finals games in Miami, but that was all just offset by hundreds of Wade free-throws at the end…

Feb.10 at 4:12 pm

whooo! says:
Wade gets to talk shit cuz he got the ring at the end of the day, and that’s the truth. Shaq calls out Erica Dampier anyways. But considering how they’re sucking right now, odd timing. But Cuban, what are you, Dirk’s mom? Gets too involved for his own good. Wade benefited from some terribly biased officiating, and that’ll be remembered till he does it the right way. But did Cuban completely forget some of the calls they got against San An? Duncan fouls out because Dirk charges and STEPS ON HIS FOOT!? Bowen called for a foul w/ the game on the line on a post up by Dirk? Yeah, I remember those Cubes, do you?

Feb.10 at 4:20 pm

whooo! says:
Oh, one more thing, if Ginobili (and Divac before him) is hated and hated for all the flopping he does, why do ppl love Dwyane Wade and not say the same about his reckless drives, flops, and bailouts by the refs?

Feb.10 at 4:48 pm

Dblizzy! says:
Mutoni, it’s a bitch to spell cuz like Max says his momma f*cked it up. It was probably one of those deals where they spelled it wrong on the birth cert, once they realized, it would have been too much of a hassle to correct, so they said eff it, my baby is “unique”

Feb.10 at 5:06 pm

Ryan Jones says:
Sam, I’d counter that if DWade was so smart, he’d know how to spell “Dwayne” properly.

Feb.10 at 7:06 pm

niQ says:
lol.. asking wade if he took business class?.. wade should ask cubes if he took kindergarten and learned how to spell lol

Feb.10 at 8:17 pm

DSal says:
I’m am sick of Cuban doing his best to draw attention to himself on a daily basis. He’s acting as if the NBA is the WWE. It gets repetitive and I’m am confused why you IDIOTS constantly listen to another idiot talk foolishness. Everyone knows that DWade is one of the best players in the NBA and so is Dirk. Let them handle the problem they have with each other. I wouldn’t be suprised if the media cut and diced DWade’s quote in order to develop some type of rivalry betwen the Heat and the Mavericks. YOU PEOPLE GROW UP AND STOP ACTING AS IF YOU PERSONALLY KNOW THESE ATHLETES. Live you own life.

Feb.10 at 8:30 pm

Drolfe says:
Wade shouldn’t have said what he said, but Dirk shouldn’t have said what he said either. It’s f*cked up winning the championship and getting the MVP, only to have most the sport writers in the world comment more on the whistles he got than his heart and desrire to win. And now Dirk comes out and says they gave them the series? That aint right. Like I said, Wade was out of line here but I can understand the frustration. As for Cubes, you know he loves this sh*t but he went a bit too far, and really just comes off as bitter that they lost last year.

Feb.10 at 8:40 pm

ALX8725 says:
I’m surprised Wade made those type of comments. He is usually pretty reserved and respectful AND he shouldnt be saying things like that especially with all the “issues/controversy” concerning the Finals last year; especailly the way sternbot handed him the championship.

Feb.10 at 9:12 pm

Tee says:
Dirk choked plain and simple. He failed his team.

Feb.10 at 10:04 pm

jlc508 says:
I’m sure Wade has just gotten so tired of hearing of how they were handed the championship that he had to say what he did. Dallas has never conceded that they were beaten by the better team. They are just an extension of Mark Cuban, the worst owner in the NBA! What a jerk he he!!

Feb.11 at 12:21 am

David says:
What Wade said was true, though. Dirk didn’t show a lot of great leadership during that series. And Cuban’s accurate, too: the Heat have obviously struggled this year with leadership issues. So they’re both right.

Alex chuc says:
why are you bringing up old shit.

Feb.11 at 7:27 am

uknOW says:
Mark Cuban is the perfect example that you cant buy class or an NBA championship

Feb.11 at 8:49 am

Truth says:
The Mavs shot 37% from the field and 11% from the 3 point line in the Finals. I challenge ANYBODY to explain how that has anything to do with the refs and some paranoid conspiracy involving David Stern. Michael Jordan in his days led the league in going to the free throw line. Today he is considered the best player ever by most. He put pressure on defenses and the refs. The refs don’t want to send a player to the line 20 times a game but every now and then special players come along who are fearless and attack like predators. Unfortunately these players will find a few un-knowledgeable basketball “fans” who ridicule their game. History will take you kiddies with a grain of sand. Wade was not fouled at the end of game five??? So yeah they called it on Dirk but they could have EASILY called it on Devin Harris. Since it seems many of you need someone to hold your hand to pull you out of your conspiratorial, amateur basketball minds I have provided pictures on how Wade was FOULED. First a little nudge by Dirk which can easily affect a shot and then real blatant foul by Devin Harris. the second and third pictures show the progression of the Devin Harris foul so look at both. How could this not affect a shot? HE GRABBED HIS ARM! http://i5.tinypic.com/14vpao0.jpg http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/6636/dwadesuperstar9oe.jpg http://espn-att.starwave.com/photo/2006/0618/nba_g_wade2_412.jpg The game is moving so fast that idiots watching on TV or even the stands think they have the right to judge the refs who are standing RIGHT THERE. Case closed.

Fuck cuban. Wade won the championship and is entitled to say what he wants. And not only is he right but cuban insulteD dwade now wade is pissed and is going to take his team to another level.See you at the playoofs BITCH!

Matt says:
This should sum it up for all of you. David Stern has a real problem on his hands and if he does not want the NBA to be viewed like WWF Wrestling, he better make sure the refs call the game the right way and fairly for all players: This is getting passed around and someone sent it to me this morning. Comments re Wade from around the league - “He gets all the calls, that’s what makes him special.'’ - Gerald Wallace “It’s unbelievable what he gets away with.'’ - Bob Hill “I can’t believe he has the audacity to complain to the refs, he should be grateful for what they’ve done for him in his career. He is what he is today because of them.” - P.J. Brown “He travels on that spin move,” Jackson said. “He picks up that pivot foot… everybody knows it. Dwayne Wade can cover so much ground when he makes that move. As you know, he can go 20 feet with that spin move and get to the basket.” - Phil Jackson SportsNation Chris Sheridan: (12:40 PM ET ) You’re preaching to the choir here, Oliver. every single night D-Wade gets three gift whistles (which even LeBron and Kobe don’t get) at a minimum, and one or two late whistles, too. He’s treated as preferrentially as Jordan was at the peak of his game, and it is infuriating to watch (unless you’re a Heat fan). And I say all that being one of the biggest D-Wade guys around, a Marquette grad even. But it’s just plain unfair to see one guy get such special treatment. It takes away from the game. Marc Stein on Galloway & Co (1/30)
“No question about it that you definitely hear– I’ve heard it from executives, I’ve heard it from coaches, that you just can’t touch this guy[Wade]… but you know, the fact that players bring this up in games… I would say yeah it’s a definite topic.”
“Does Wade get calls that nobody else gets? Does he go to the line too much? Yes, no question.” “You can’t do nothing to D-Wade. If you say ‘boogety-boogety boo’ to him, that’s a foul. If you give him a hard look, that’s a foul.” -Rasheed Wallace
(He also comically took shots and flopped over acting injured. I’m not even joking. Link below) Tracy McGrady went so far as to say the NBA finals might have been rigged in a radio interview the foul calls were so obviously in Miami’s favor. Sources: Rasheed:

Tracy McGrady’s thoughts on Wade: http://odeo.com/audio/1597802/view http://www.blogmaverick.com/2007/02/09/dwayne-wade-a-leader/ (Cubans recent comments) These satirical articles from nbadraft.net and the brushback also do a good job of illustrating how the players and media around the league feel about Wade. http://www.thebrushback.com/Archives/classy_full.htm http://www.nbadraft.net/prevenas066.asp http://dwil.wordpress.com/tag/nba-mentions/dwyane-wade/ (not so much satire as it is more of the same about the egregious calls Wade gets away with). It’s obvious (particularly after listening to Stein’s comments) that the players and coaches around the league feel that Wade is receiving some biased/unfair treatment. On sports forums all over the net debates about Wade’s preferential treatment routinely start up before and after games. Hell, if you look at the statistics from last years finals something alarming comes up (here are the leaders in FTA per game for both teams from 1998 to 2006): 2006 NBAFINALS
Wade - 16.2
Dirk - 9.0 2005 NBAFINALS
Duncan - 7.7
Billups - 6.3 2004 NBAFINALS
Shaq - 11.0
Billups 8.4 2003 NBAFINALS
Duncan - 9.0
Kidd/Jefferson/Martin - 4.0 2002 NBAFINALS
Shaq - 14.5
Martin - 6.5 2001 NBAFINALS
Shaq - 15.2
Iverson - 9.6 2000 NBAFINALS
Shaq - 15.5
Miller - 6.7 1999 NBAFINALS
Robinson - 9.6
Duncan - 9.0 1998 NBAFINALS
Jordan - 11.6
Malone - 8.0 Now what can we deduct from all this? You’d have to go back to 1998 to find the last guard to ever averaged double-digit FTA in Michael Jordan in the FINALS. Even still, Wade has about 5 more FTA than Jordan which nearly equates to 2 or 3 more Fouls given. The only one remotely close in FTA to Wade is Shaq in his Prime years. It’s obvious why Shaq got that many freethrows, he was a complete monster in the Post and teams often employed the Hack-a-Shaq to slow him down. In Game 2 of the 2000 NBA FINALS, Shaq got 39 FTA in which he only made 18. And yet Wade still averaged more FTA per game. The argument Wade proponents have is that he is being “aggressive” and is the most aggressive player in the Finals. Umm no. Wade isn’t anymore aggressive than Jordan, Shaq, Duncan, Iverson or any other superstar that has ever played in the FINALS. It’s ridiculous that Wade got more FTA than post players like Shaq, Duncan or Robinson. It’s also ludicrous for a guard to EVER get 16.2 FTA while averaging 36.5 ppg. Shows you where a chunk of the points came from. In case you missed all that: It’s all about the freethrows. Wade isn’t all that great of a basketball player (although he is certainly good), but when the refs will call a foul on the opposing player if he merely BREATH’s in your direction there’s a problem. Wade gets the kind of calls Jordan got in his prieme-MORE actually-and he’s a 4th year guard. Wade isn’t a superstar player, he’s a MANUFACTURED superstar courtesy of the refs. Put me on the line 11 times a game and I’d be an NBA star as well. Wades ppg to FTA per game ratio is one of if not THE most lopsided in NBA history, and that isn’t even taking into account all of the non-shooting/blocking fouls he gets per game. 1 in every of 5 his shot attempts see’s the refs putting him on the line. Here are some examples of the kinds of calls Wade is getting every game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aySGUzzxjGE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MJFbN_TZEE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yK4P8I8E0fo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-dJ1FEebfc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QLTtl6sbnE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFSd5YE63Dw Maybe there’s a logical explanation for this, but regardless of what that is more attention needs to be brought to this issue, if only to rectify the problem and assure that the integrity of the game isn’t being compromised in an effort to create the “next Jordan.”

Jase Songaila says:
Shouldn’t that be “as he is ONE to do,” not “WONT?” Great editing. And Cube took this WAY too far. Dirk was out of line for taking the pride away from the Heat for winning, and as it says, Wade is a good guy. You can’t make an entire blog bashing him for basing his opinion. I usually back up what Mark C. says, but in this case, he comes off as everything David Stern claims he is.

Feb.11 at 3:21 pm

cee says:
Ok let’s dispel the notion that Wade should not be making those comments, and that he benefitted from the officiating. Who won the finals?? The Miami Heat. They won because they were the better team not based on talent. If it were based on talent, the Dallas Mavericks should have won that easily. I mean you are talking about a mavericks team that beat TWO teams that were better than the Heat in the previous rounds. Dirk was good, but he wasn’t good enough last year. They probably would’ve still found a way to lose even with what happened in game five. Dirk and crew just didn’t have the heart and that’s what wade was saying.

Feb.11 at 10:49 pm

drake says:
true Dwyane made a mistake buy commenting. But frankly Dirk had it coming. Anytime someone would mention the last year’s finals he would go “the Heat didn’t win we lost it”. He never gave Miami the credits. True they were the better team but Miami (Wade) knew how to win it. Cuban better shut his mouth and make sure they win this year. And as good as a player Dirk is, Wade has already surpassed him.

Feb.11 at 11:12 pm

Clay says:
Nice call Tee…
Did everyone become Mavs fans overnight or something? Fuck Dirk and fuck Cubes! They are both just bitches that are crying over what could have been…
Wade played as well anyone has in a finals series. The guy wants to win. No body GAVE him shit. He earned that ring… the refs just called it how it was man. What would you do if no one could stop you from driving into the lane? Take mid range jumpers? Give me a fuckin’ break!!

Feb.12 at 5:35 am

NAS says:
WADE is the MVP fuck nash, dirk n everyone, the heat will be close to 50 wins with a group of stiffs like toine, kapo-no defense, james posey, gary payton who is 57 years old today, doleac 7 at this point shaq is no prize either(with the exception of kapono cuz he can shoot none of these cats would MAKE the suns active roster) WADE is the best in the league, yep better than nash, dirk & kobe — maybe the cavs should have chosen WADE 1st overall, that cavs team looks a lot like the heat team he won a ring with

Feb.12 at 5:37 am

NAS says:
shaq would make the suns roster too, but i dont think he want to with all that running

Feb.12 at 11:06 am

getserious says:
DWADE gets the respect from the refs, cause they recognize that , although young, he’s a hard nose, old school sob with no fear in his heart. To paraphrase Hubie,” give the guy credit for being relentless in taking the ball to the rim, cause in this league you get hammered.” Look at the hustle stats and see where dwade stacks up. BLOCKS: DWADE 1.30, DIRK 0.78, LEBRON 0.63 BRYANT 0.42. (Keep in mind DWADE is only 6′ 4″) STEALS: DWADE 2.09, DIRK 0.74, KOBE 1.35, NASH 0.72, LEBRON 1.57. Hey the refs are human, when they see a guy working harder than everybody else selling out his body, he will get rewarded. There is no conspiracy, if there were, why wouldn’t the league want dirk to win? Maybe no one has noticed but he is blond hair and blue eyed. Closest thing physically I’ve seen to Bird. I’m sure Stern would be delighted to have Dirk as “the face” of the NBA. When its all said and done Dwade is just another black guy.

Feb.12 at 12:48 pm

Rams says:
The better team always wins! The Mavs and their owner need to stop crying. If they continue to work hard they’ll get their shot! I’m sure of it. Seriously the heat should be able to respond to comments made against them, don’t they? And if Dirk takes it as a challenge, hell he should. DAMN! Be a man for god sakes.
Take you beatin get up lick your wounds and get it right next time. Don’t whine about it like your g/f just left you. That cube guy he’s pretty funny. I wonder what his life would be like if he wasn’t rich? It’s cool though. If I was worth billions I’d say whatever I felt like too. But I guess a pimp has to protect his bitches! Oops, I’m sure I’m going to hear it for that one.

Feb.12 at 3:20 pm

Reggie Evans says:
To be fair, I read it over at True Hoop. So Henry (the True Hoops blogger) gets the scoop!

Feb.12 at 3:39 pm

Heat Fan says:
This whole thing began because of Dirk and not giving the Heat their credit for winning, Yes winning 4 games in a row in the finals and finishing Dallas in their own house with one set of clothes. So Cuban and Dirk go listen to David Hasselhoff records together with some Kleenex for your tears and stop picking on Dwayne Wade because he gave you the ass whooping of your life. I suggest you don’t piss him off again like you did with the parade and make sure you pick the right hotel this time, and were the right persons shorts from the heat and that the refs cooperate and that the weather is good and that the planets align and then maybe you could be a finishing championship team instead of being a regular season record chaser.

Feb.12 at 4:20 pm

Troy says:
“Take you beatin get up lick your wounds and get it right next time” That’s exactly what Dirk has been doing and why D-wade’s comments are so juvenile.
The only thing Dirk has ever said about the Finals refs is that Cuban needs to chill out and not talk about the refs so much. Dirk on Wade: “I thought once they got back home, they were great, obviously Dwyane was great. After Game 2, whatever, he was unstoppable. He really, you know, really won them the Championship. You know, from Game 3 when we were up 10, he just took over since then. He never let up. He was great”
So Dirk said the Mavs feel they gave the championship away. Show me a good player on a good team that didn’t win it all who doesn’t feel the same way? A week before Dirk, Billups said they exact same thing–that the Pistons believed and believe that they had the best team in the East last year but they just didn’t get it done. Athletes get paid millions of dollars to believe that if they had just played better they could have won it all. Any star athlete who believes “I didn’t fail. The other guys are just better than us and we’ll never beat them no matter what we do” would be rightly drummed out of sports by the fans, the medai, and his fellows.

Feb.12 at 4:25 pm

Troy says:
And yes, Cuban should have kept his mouth shut. If he hadn’t descended to join Wade in taking juvenile shots and thereby spoonfeeding reporters their story, maybe a few of them would have earned their money and gone back to find the actual quote Wade was responding to and seen its no different than what Detroit is saying about their loss to Miami, or what the Suns and Spurs were saying about their loss to Dallas, or even to what Shaq said every year he didn’t win a championship–”we failed, we didn’t live up to what we see as our potential, and we intend to do better.”
Or they might have gone to see Dirk’s actual response: “All I said two weeks ago when we played them was, we feel like we gave them the championship,” Nowitzki said. “We had a 2-0 lead, we were up 10 with a couple of minutes left in Game 3. If we win that Game 3, we have a chance to close the series out. That’s really all I said, and I don’t know why he got all sensitive about it.”
Dirk didn’t have ‘his Daddy’ respond for him. Nobody control Cuban’s mouth except Stern–and even Stern’s control is imperfect.

Feb.12 at 4:42 pm

bigred says:
cuban is a sore-losing, megalomaniac, internet nerd bitch and until proven otherwise dirk nowitski is a choke who can’t win the big ones. d-wade had all the right in the world to fire back at dirk after his comments. the mavs didn’t “give away” the series it was snatched from them by d-wade. to complain about how many times wade went to the free-throw line is ridiculous. the guy has been getting hammered on his way to the hole his whole career. just watch the commercials (which are far from boring). i was suprised to hear Wade be so aggresive in his criticism of dirk, but i also welcomed it. bottom line: it’s wade’s league and he should be right up there with dirk and nash for mvp consideration. plus, we should commend him for criticizing LeBron’s game too, cause it seems to have helped King Jame’s as well.

wade can say whatever the fuck he wants to say cause after all of cubans BS the 2006 NBA champs are still the miami heat and the finals MVP is still,he has proven himself and thats what dirk hasnt done show the world that he is clutch and, that he is a winner, all he has proven is that he is a whiner and a sore loser..shit happens dirk, you lost to the NBA’s oldest team in the finals live with it and grow up…

Feb.12 at 5:00 pm

Heat Fan says:
Bottom line is that the Heat won the Championship without any thoughts and the only ones who have still thoughts in their heads if they can do it or not are the Mavs from Cuban all the way down the ladder. Regular season doesn’t mean anything and The heat are just starting to get ready for the playoffs and this year we are going to be alot better and complete, because of our three point shooting depth which is the best in the NBA with Jones, Posey, Kapono(also great defenders). Our defense is also only going to get better. On the 22nd you will see a preview of just how much Mark Cuban’s big mouth is going to come back and bite him in the ass. Everybody in the media has not given the heat any respect for winning the championship because of the season they are having because of injuries and all this only makes them stronger and motivates them more. If you look at last year they were in the same situation before entering the playoffs with everybody doubting them and they cruised thru. See you in the finals if you can make it.

Feb.12 at 5:10 pm

Heat Fan says:
It is really sickening to hear all of these guys saying how much their pussies hurt all the time. At the end of the day everybody plays with the same ball in the same hoops, so be a man and take what is yours. If you can’t take it then it never was yours. Stop all the refereeing excuses and league rules which both teams play by and both teams get shitty calls sometimes and play the game. Win don’t cry otherwise shut the F*** Up.

I admire Wade’s game. But I do think that he gets the most ridiculous calls from the refs even more than Lebron or Kobe gets.

At least no one can blame you for not being thorough, Matt. That post had better references than some academic dissertations I’ve seen…

The heat are the champs! There’s nothing cube can say in his blog that will ever make that go away.Remember this though the Mavs played great last year. So did the pistons, hell the spurs and suns did too. CONGRATULATIONS! That would be great if championchips were won during the rgular season, but there not! The heat had a plan, they executed, and as a result they are the champs. LOL it’s lonely at the top.

Well i completely agree with d- wades comments , i mean i watched the games over and over again ,and Dirk seemed very passive in the final game.It was a mix of the Heats defense and lack of Dirk .Lol ,he just didnt show up at the end..and Cuban is just mad cause they lost. The better team in my mind won.Maybe Dirk is overated?

All I know is that karma is a bitch, and DWade has a dislocated shoulder and could be out for the rest of the season. So much for your savior Heat fans. Better luck next year, maybe you’ll get the 8th seed next year.

Dwade’s ad on falling down 7 and getting up 8:
he’d have to start “down” to get up 1 extra time. well guess that means he was already down from a flop; contrary to most other NBA players that stand upright and fall down 7 and get up 7.
