Quote Of The Night

Charles Barkley says the damndest things…

by Lang Whitaker

Just a reminder of why you can’t miss TNT’s crew:

Charles Barkley on the Phoenix Suns: “Until they adress their defensive rebounding, they’re gonna be like that pretty girl you go out with, then you take her home and she takes her weave out and you’re like, Wow, you’re not as pretty as I thought you were.”

Bimbo,
Are you comparing the Suns to Marv Albert?

Nov.10 at 1:36 am

nic says:
why yes, it seems that bimbo was. but i just cant see phoenix marving anyone in the ass this year - when you really think that the missing piece is jalen rose, you know you have problems…

I disgree wholeheartedly. Nash is still doing his thing, Marion is still doing his thing, Thomas is doing his thing, Amare looks like hes slowly getting there, Diaw aint doing shit, but Barbosa is doing his thing. Sure there 1-4 right now (actually right this second they’re tied 97-97 with Dallas midway through the 4th), but its gonna click soon. I predict a loss-free January.

Tom Jackson says:
Anyone else catch that Bimbo Coles is a Suns fan, whom Mike Dantoni and Dan Dantoni are coaches…no one gets it? Sidney Coles, Bimbo’s brother is an alum of Marshall University in Bimbo’s homestate of WV, where Mike and Dan went, and are also from… coincidence, I think not.

Tom Jackson says:
Actually this Tom Jackson also went to Marshall as I am from Huntington, WV, also. Rep OJ and Bill Walker! what!

Nov.10 at 4:51 am

Tom Jackson says:
And Hal Greer, White Chocolate (he went to Marshall), Chad Pennington, Troy Brown, Randy Moss, B Leftwich, Chris Hanson, Rick Reed, Patrick Patterson, Alexis Hornbuckle… Huntington is a hotbed boys and girls.

Back to the story at hand… That was the funniest shit I’ve heard in a while. I laughed out loud and could only wish I had tivo’d it so I could watch it over and over again. Sir Charles should get player of the d.a.y. Sam. Recognize!!! Hilarious!!! Oh and by the way, I’m from KY

Thabo Sefolosha invoking a “Dammmmn” from Steve Kerr was pretty impressive, but Reggie Miller choking back an S-bomb when Dampier couldn’t finish at the rim was even more memorable. TNT’s basketball coverage is tops.

I think Diaw is gonna be the biggest dissapointment of the season. Not only did he put on a load of wieght over the summer, but he just looks out of place this yr. maybe its too early to tell, but he just doesn’t look confident out there. But the contract is in the bag… mission accompished!

Noah Doucette says:
diaw probly wont repeat his super year but check out barbosa, he seems like he’s the phx leading scorer every noight.

Alan in P-town says:
What about dem’ BLAZERS! 4 & 2, off to a great start-just took out the Hornets.

Nov.11 at 4:52 am

Wedgie Evans says:
Diaw had his great year last year because he was playing Amare’s role in the offense, running pick and rolls all day. Check his stats last year when Amare was in the lineup, y’all shoulda seen this coming.

Barkley For Gov! For most of you who don’t know a lot about the Suns (I.E. “Nash is still doing his thing, Marion is still doing his thing, Thomas is doing his thing” … very informative off-topic discussion going on here. I laughed at the Marv Albert stuff though. As for Diaw… of course he’s not gonna have another break out year like last year… he was most improved player… so if he improved more than what he did last year, he would damn nearly be Chris Bosh.. which he’s not. he had a ton of freedom (like Wedgie mentioned)with Amare out and now he has to go back to a less than stellar role. if he flourishes from off the bench… i like the suns chances. and as for barbosa… if any of you ever saw him run the offense after “not-so-starbury” left, you’d wouldn’t be bragging to ‘check out barbosa’. He leads the team in points? maybe that fact alone is why they are off to their SUPER start, Noah, or should I say Mr. Colangelo. Too bad you aren’t running the show. And picking up Jalen Rose for damn nearly the veteran minimum… How can you argue with picking up another shooter when Raja was the only three baller to come through last playoff run. And seeings how they made the Conference Finals the past two years (one w/o Amare)… why would they make any significant changes. A healthy Amare and company COULD be enough if they find a rhythm and a title.

Last time I checked the Suns were 1 and 4. Whoever the hell said the shit about Nashty, Matrix, and Kurt T doing their things must be sniffing something
