Player of the D.A.Y.
Politics are starting to come into play.
By Sam Rubenstein
So, am I supposed to give this out to someone from over the weekend on Monday? Or am I pretending that weekend basketball doesn’t exist. I dunno. Let me think on it. For now, you get the best of Sunday night as the award winner. And in this case, it comes down to Vince or Yao.
I actually meant to give this very award to Yao over last weekend for the monster game he had against Dallas. But I didn’t. So consider this half a makeup trophy and half totally legit. He did dominate the Heat and put in his claim for best center in the league by outplaying an aging Shaq. Vince hit that three to force OT and continued his 30 point game scoring surge with RJ out of action. He’l have to settle for honorable mention.
It’s YAO D.A.Y.
By the way, The Dirty 30 will be making its appearance later this week. I’m about as consistent as Eli Manning right now.

You kids that post First are such losers. If you’re going to say something say something, but don’t be the first goofball to say nothing.

In that case, let me have a whack at it. Despite the scrubs D’Antoni put in near the end of the Suns/Grizzlies game on Saturday thus letting a 34 point lead slip to 7, my Suns won with a little vintage Amare Stoudemire - the man went for 25/14 boards/2 blocks in just 24 minutes. Here’s hoping Amare keeps progressing, as all that’s really keeping him back at the moment is timing and stamina. His hops are coming back, his lateral movement is as good as ever & his D is definitely improved. Also, keep an eye out for Deron in Utah - kid’s tearing it up like a young Jason Kidd with a jumper & kicking the crap out of the ol’ “soph slump.”

This was totally Michael Redd’s award. He’s been robbed! How can you give it to Yao, when Redd went something like 18 0f 32 for 57!!!

Micheal Redd lost. Yao won. I don’t know why there is a big fuss about Redd’s 57 points. His team lost. It’s even less impressive after someone scored 81 last year. And his team actually won.

Even though Shaq has aged the game espn had on Sunday only symbolizes the passing of the torch from the once best center to THE best center Yao Ming. Sure he started slow but he sure finished it off to secure his spot as the best center in the NBA.

carter, vince carter! also he left rap town in a moment of need………but he did what he did in toranto for those reasons:
1 he was tired of non play call for him! he was taking shots in the last 4 seconds of the 24 seconds!
2 he always had 4 guys over him! 2 of the oponent and 2 from his team mate!
3 you call that a team? rose peterson…
4 the rims in toranto could not handel him any more 2 more dunks like his and they would have cracked!
5 the team did not try, even try to get any one that has potential in his team!
6 the loss of tmac….oak….and all the good players in to!
7 what the fuck should he do in toranto, when he is recognized for his dunk only! who wants to be air canada!
now regarding the 81 points issue on kobe, he did not atack kobe, he defended his way to play hoop! he hates to score in bunch, he wanted to be a multy dimentional player, like grant hill back in the days, he had the same charcter with the dude! vince is a nice guy, not a bitch or anything! the thing with scoring is changing! for me i see him as an important player in the league marketing wise and game wise! new jersey have a team that should beat the cavs, bulls, wizzards, all the top dawgs in the east, but the heat coses the most damage! i wish that for once, carter can be with a bigg man! to see him, like he was with twan jam back in the north carolina days, playing his best game ever! for all of you hatters, look back at 2001 raptors sixers series, look at vince, he was the dawg! fuck injury, i hate that, the fact i lost 3 of my favorite players to injury, penny hill and cwebb, makes me worry about vc!peace out!

After his 38 Point explosion last night, i think it’s safe to say that Vince is really trying for the nets this season. As a lifelong fan, i have 3 words: keep it up VC. (oh those were like, 4..)
