They’re saying whoooo not boo

More Stephen Jackson fallout.

By Sam Rubenstein

Either the SLAM nickname for Stephen “Whoo” Jackson is catching on, or his home fans are booing him. This is not good for the Pacers. Thinking back to the brawl, their fans were never put in a position to boo their own players because of how Sternbot shut down their season with those suspensions. They were put in the positon of playing the Pacers vs. the universe card. But now, they’ve decided that what Jackson does off the court in his free time is cause for booing. His teammates sort of kind of claim to have his back in a wishy washy way, but it’s not that convincing. I guess Tinsley and Marquis Daniels are in a similar boat, and maybe this can somehow make them a tighter group as a team, but this is ugly. For the third straight year, the Pacers are going to have a season full of drama. Last year we had a David Harrison diary on the old website and he said somthing about how every year something crazy happens, with year one being the brawl and suspensions and year two being Ron Ron’s time out for insubordination. He joked that he was curious about what woud happen this season. Well, here you go. This is not going to end well.
Please note which finger Stephen is using in the photo.

Is it possible that the Pacers are more dysfunctional than the Knicks? I can’t really say that since they’ll still probably get to the playoffs and the Bulls will probably get Greg Oden and I’ll probably get sick.

Reggie said (for whatever it’s worth) last year that the team didn’t have the maturity or focus to win in the post season, even with it’s talent. He even, back handedly, pointed out that the guy who should be their leader, didn’t have it in him to do so. That guy is Jermaine O’Neal. Let’s see what he does this year to step into that role and get these guys to focus on what it is they have the potential to do. And “supporting my teammates” in this case may not be the best thing to do. But like Sam says, maybe this will bring them together. Time, and 82 games, will tell.

I see Mr. Jackson got rid of his braids. I wonder if his upcoming court dates have anything to do with his recent haircut?

This photo makes it look like Whoo is rocking the Battier-patented ‘head rows’.

He deserves the fallout from the Pacers fans - I can’t believe they ever supported him in the first place. He should’ve been suspended for a whole season along with Artest after the brawl in Motown. At least Artest had (in his mind) an excuse to rush in the stands. Jackson was just looking for a fight. He was a thug then, and he’s still behaving like one.
