Today we continue our tradition of breaking down new fashion/design trends in the NBA by bringing in SLAM creative director Melissa Brennan. (For a previous edition, check here.) Today we take a look at the new third uniforms recently debuted by the Wizards.
Here’s Gilbert Arenas modeling the uniform….
Melissa’s breakdown:
“Oooh, is that gold? I like that. Is it because I’m a girl? I really like that, because no one else is doing anything else like that. I like it from a color standpoint, meaning I wouldn’t wear it, but I really like the way it looks. And he looks like a statue there.”

That jersey is ugly as hell. The only team that could pull off wearing jerseys that are that gold and shiny are the Denver Nuggets. At least Denver has gold trim in their uniforms and logos. Why the hell would the Wizards have gold jerseys. WTF?

I hate golden jerseys and most flashy jerseys. Making the players look like bush league or something.
Players should be able to sue their team management for utter humiliation they have to suffer.

The shorts are not too bad but the jerseys have to go. Shiny gold is not a good look for any NBA team. I think their third jersey should pay repsect to their Bullet roots as far as the color scheme goes.

I think the Hornets should be black and yellow, like steelers. not that fruity turqoise color. And the wiz jersey sucks but s’ok cause it’s an alternate so weel only see it now and then.

Wow….I didnt think the Wizards jerseys could actually get any worse than what they already had…but they did….wow. Thats ugly. Way to go Abe, make your team even less cool for the fans. Along with that retarded logo, whoever is in charge of this stuff for the wizards needs to be fired. As Shaq would say, they need to have their college diploma revoked.
