Josh Howard, getting money
The class of ‘03 is raking in more than business grads from Wharton.
The Mavs have re-upped with Josh Howard for four years, over $40 mill. The GNP of the draft class of 2003 is very substantial. Josh’s quote from the other day was “I’m still playing whether I’m getting $40 million or I’m getting my $1.6 million like this year. I’m going to have a ball out there because that’s what I do.” So, if he wasn’t happy then, he is now.

I think this monster trade works under salary cap rules:
Jerome James and Jalen Rose to Dallas,
Josh Howard to NY,
Ricky Davis to Dallas
Kevin Garnett to NY
Dirk to Minnesota.
And if it doesn’t work under the cap, NY still has all kinds of junk players to throw into a deal. Don’t like Jalen Rose? How about Steve Francis? Don’t like Steve Francis? How about Eddy Curry? Don’t like Eddy Curry? How about some of the other crap (anybody not named Marbury) on the roster? It’s a crap sale, all crap must go! And the Knicks are no longer the team taking back the crap. The Mavs have had a good run recently. It’s their turn for some crap. All they have now is Erick Dampier. I said the trade might work under the salary cap. I made no mention of working under the confines of reality or sanity.

Nice,
NY, gets Big Ticket
Mini, gets Dirk
and Dallas, gets RICKEY DAVIS, JEROME JAMES and Jalens contract.
All 3 players are all more likley to get the Eddie Robinson/Tim Thomas, “just go away” treatment.

Boris Diaw just got five years, $45 milli. Kaman should hold out for $100 million.
