SLAM 13
Here’s Alonzo Mourning, back when he was the franchise player for the Miami Heat, making the only face he knows how to make, which is looking intense and screaming. At his peak he was a tough power forward that was good enough to be one of the best centers in the league, especially on defense. This is the season preview issue, and Miami had the best season in team history up to that point, getting all the way to the Conference Finals before understandably losing to the Bulls dynasty. Zo would of course return to the East Finals, and go further than that nearly 10 years later.

A decade later and that picture is still scary. Between that and the GP cover, SLAM gave more than a few kids nightmares….

Yeah he has an amazing and inspirational story and all that, but in my opinion, Zo is a selfish and ungrateful bastard!
