Rookies. Even with A.I., the first overall pick from the ‘96 draft missing, there’s more than enough star power left in the photo. At the time of the shoot, Ray Allen and Marcus Camby were coming off distinguished college careers with NCAA titles just out of their reach, Shareef Abdur-Rahim had put up monster numbers, Steph was a one and done freshman phenom, and Kobe was the only one in this group to skip college, but was probably the best pro prospect of them all. Each one of these young guys would go on to get solo cover love, except for Camby.
