Update #2, 7:58 pm: Cappie Pondexter has been located and is safe, Lyndsey D’Arcangelo of The Athletic reports.
Update #1, 5:23 pm: The LAPD has confirmed that Pondexter was arrested on a battery charge on Tuesday and was released on Thursday (ESPN). According to The Athletic, Pondexter wandered off after her release and has still not been located.
3:12 pm: WNBA legend Cappie Pondexter has been reported missing. The 37-year-old was last seen on Monday and, according to Lyndsey D’Arcangelo of The Athletic, a police investigation is underway.
Pondexter’s phone and wallet were found at her home. Per D’Arcangelo, the Los Angeles Police Department has a couple of leads but an earlier report of her being found has been determined to be false.
Pondexter, a seven-time WNBA All-Star, is a beloved member of the pro hoops community and flourished with the Phoenix Mercury, New York Liberty and Chicago Sky over the course of her 13-year career.
