Incoming Kentucky freshman guard Jamal Murray scored 22 points in the fourth quarter and OT to lead Canada to a 111-108 win over the USA in the Pan American Games on Friday. During overtime, the 18-year-old from suburban Toronto hit back-to-back threes to give Canada its final lead.
After the game, Canada’s general manager, Steve Nash, spoke very highly of the 6-4 guard: “He’s got such balls and he’s not afraid of the moment, he embraces the moment and that’s why he’s very, very special.”
Canada goes for gold on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. EST, taking on Brazil.
