The 15th edition of the Jordan Brand Classic took place last Friday in Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. Twenty of the top players in the Class of 2016 took the court for what would amount to many as the last game of their high school careers. Kentucky’s future backcourt emerged as the story of the night, with De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk being the only two players in game to surpass the 20-point mark and ultimately both earned co-MVP honors. Fox, who pushed his East Team to a 131-117 victory over the West, finished with a game-high 23 points and 5 rebounds.
For the West squad, Monk scored 22 points to go along with 5 boards. Other top performers included Washington-commit Markelle Fultz (19 points and 4 rebounds), Duke-commit Jayson Tatum (18 points and 8 rebounds), St. John’s commit Shamorie Ponds (17 points) and Miles Bridges (17 points and 4 rebounds).
