R.J. Hunter is one of the most underrated college basketball players in America. Georgia State’s junior guard announced his arrival on the biggest stage in the sport in a huge way today, as he drilled a long three as time was running out to secure the Panthers’ 57-56 win over Baylor. It was the second time today that a 14 seed knocked out a 3 seed. Hunter had 16 points and 3 rebounds in the win.
Also: peep the dude on the stool on the sidelines. That’s Ron Hunter—Georgia State’s coach and R.J.’s dad. Hunter tore his Achilles during the squad’s win in the Sun Belt title game on Sunday, but coached from the sidelines via a stool. However, his son’s game-winner was so good that it literally made him fall out of his seat.
