Jamal Mashburn thrived as a scorer at every level. He started at Cardinal Hayes in the Bronx, then took his talents to Wildcat country where he earned First Team All-American honors as a Junior, and then got drafted 4th overall by the Mavs in ’93. Mash led all rookies in scoring during the ’93-94 season averaging 19.2 points and became one of the best young Small Forwards in the league. He was traded to Miami during the ’96-97 season after 2 injury-plagues years in Dallas and became an integral part of a Heat squad that won 4 straight Division Titles. Mash was traded to the Hornets in 2000 and earned All-Star honors in 2003 while averaging 21.6 pts, 6.1 rbs, and 5.6 asts. He retired after the ’04 season and now works for ESPN as an NBA analyst.
