Evan Turner With a Triple-Double vs the Nets (VIDEO)

For the second time this season (and in his entire career), Evan Turner messed around and got a triple-double: 19 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds in the Celtics’ 110-91 Monday night road win in Brooklyn.

With the victory against reeling Brooklyn, Boston has now moved into the eighth and final Playoff spot at the bottom of the Eastern Conference.

Turner continues to play well in the absence of Isaiah Thomas, who’s sat out eight consecutive games with a deep lower-back bruise.

Per the Boston Herald:

The swingman left the locker room wearing gold grillwork over his bottom teeth. If attention was Turner’s goal, he succeeded on a triple-double level that outshined the 19 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds he put on the board during last night’s 110-91 win against the Brooklyn Nets.

“Every now and then I switch things up, and I have to have fun,” Turner said. “I just woke up feeling like it. This started off on every family (vacation), me and my brothers would do something off-the-wall to make my grandmother go crazy, so there would be a mohawk, or a hidden tattoo or something stupid. So this past vaca we got grills, and we got the reaction we wanted from her. Now she’s aware. She went, ‘Oh, my gosh. Oh, Lord, they’re going to kill me.’ It started as a joke.”

Turner is known for his fertile imagination. He planted the baseless rumor that coach Brad Stevens, upset with the C’s performance in the first half of a March 13 win over the Orlando Magic, cancelled food on the team charter flight.
