Bill Russell Records ‘Double Triple-Double’ in 1956 NCAA Championship Game (VIDEO)
Before the NBA Finals MVP award became eponymous, Bill Russell was winning NCAA Championships, of course, with the San Francisco Dons. This recently released footage of Russell’s final amateur game—an 83–71 victory over Iowa in the 1956 NCAA Championship—showcases Russell recording an unbelievable 26 points, 27 rebounds and 20 blocks…a double triple-double.
