On Friday, SLAM was granted behind-the-scenes access as Jordan Brand athletes Jabari Parker and Chris Paul joined some of the best AAU players in the country for a private workout, and then helped introduce the Air Jordan XX9 to the general public at Jumpman’s “First to Fly” event, hosted at an exclusive pop-up court inside The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas.
The AJ XX9 won’t hit retail until September 6, but participants were given the opportunity to wear-test the sneaker on-court, plus take photos with the shoe, get a first-hand look at the science of Flight Plate and even create custom socks.
Check out an exclusive look at all the Day 1 action from Vegas in the video above. We’ve got much more coming on Saturday, too—to follow the action live, follow @SLAMonline on Twitter and Instagram, and join the conversation using the hashtags #TakeFlight and #XX9.
