Action Bronson was the latest guest on Complex‘s “Sneaker Shopping With…” series and went against the grain when he said he doesn’t rock with Jordans anymore. While most rappers are quick to cop the popular sneakers and stunt on social media, Bronson explained that an encounter with MJ himself led to the Queens, N.Y. MC not wanting to rock MJ’s kicks anymore.
“I wore Jordans when I grew up, but nowadays this has become the go-to shoe for every single human being,” explained the rapper. “I can’t do it, I don’t like the quality of them or the look of them anymore…I have a personal issue with Mike. We didn’t hit it off when we met. He looked at me like, ‘I’m 7-feet and can dunk on him and put my nuts on his head.’ He could care less about me. We just didn’t hit it off.”
Watch Action tour the Kith store in downtown Brooklyn and explain his affinity for New Balance, how adidas won him over with its Boost technology, his preferred wedding attire and more.
Bronsolino has seen his status rise and has become a legit crossover star thanks to his Viceland show, F*ck, That’s Delcious. From a basketball standpoint, Action is a vocal Knicks fan and promoted his Blue Chips 2 mixtape with a fictional tale where he was responsible for Patrick Ewing’s famous missed layup against the Pacers in Game 7 of the ’95 Eastern Conference Semifinals.
