Nike announced this week that it will be outfitting the Spanish national basketball team for the first time, and above are the new uniforms, inspired by Spanish culture. Of course, it wouldn’t be Nike without peak performance, too. Each piece of the jersey—shirt or short—is made from 22 recycled plastic water bottles. Still, its the lightest basketball uniform ever made by Nike, thanks to Nike Aerographics, modified breathability and laser-cut arm holes, not to mention Nike Dri-Fit technology. More details, from Nike:

The kits account for Spain’s climate, and showcase the country’s artisitic spirit through a bold sunrise graphic. The font used for the players’ names and numbers is based on the Ñ, a letter strongly identified with the Spanish alphabet. The jerseys feature a V-neck collar and a small Spanish flag on the front; on the back is a striking graphic of the sun and its rays. Inside the neck is the inspiring phrase: “Ser Espanol no es una excusa, es una responsabilidad,” which translates as: “Being Spanish is not an excuse, it’s a responsibility.”

Team Spain will debut the jerseys on-court later this year (women’s team in June, men’s in September).
