Minnesota Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley has been well-documented this summer, as the former top-2 pick stays active in gyms and on playgrounds throughout the country. In anticipation for arguably the most hyped streetball game in recent history, Beasley has guaranteed his hometown-based Goodman League will defeat the California-based Drew League. Via TweetsCenter: “We goin’ to dog em. I’ll stab that..I’ll promise that. We’re going to get the win, it’s guaranteed,’ Beasley said in an interview with @TheBasketballCh. Beasley will play for the D.C.-basedGoodman League on August 20 as they will host players from the Compton, California-based Drew League in a game that will be streamed on Internet for a pre-order price of $4.99 on www.thebasketballchannel.net. Beasley will reunite with former high school AAU teammate and NBA superstar Kevin Durant for Goodman along with John Wall, Tywon Lawson, DeMarcus Cousins and other NBA and streetball talent. Heading east from the Drew League includes James Harden, DeMar DeRozan, Nick Young, Dorrell Wright, Brandon Jennings, and JaVale McGee among others. ‘Goodman league. The best league in the f______ world,’ Beasley said. ‘The Drew league is OK. They play indoor, man they don’t know anything about this hard life. It’s the streets out here man.’ Beasley isn’t the only guaranteeing a win. Drew League’s Jennings tweeted at Durant on August 4th, ‘@KDTrey5 oh yea dog one more thing LA vs DC aug 20th we gon beat ya’ll by 10.’ The winner of this game will get bragging rights for its league and neighborhood, but everyone involved will emerge as winners if the event goes as planned. All eyes will be on this game to see if it will be potential viable option for some players to stay stateside and play these types of organized events as opposed to going overseas to hoop while everyone waits out what looks to be a lengthy lockout.”
