Michael Beasley has pledged to sign an $18 million contract over three years with the Phoenix Suns. Per the AZ Republic: “On the night they paved Steve Nash’s path to the Los Angeles Lakers with another sign-and-trade agreement, the Suns followed Tuesday’s offer-sheet commitment from Eric Gordon by agreeing to terms with unrestricted free agent Michael Beasley. This one is a swing for the fences. Beasley pledged to sign a three-year, $18 million contract to join Phoenix when signings begin Wednesday. Beasley is an enigmatic but talented 23-year-old who has shown flashes of being the player who once created a debate of whether he or Derrick Rose should be the top draft pick in 2008. Beasley went second to Miami, where the 19-year-old was not ready for instant riches and responsibility.”
