The rumors of Jeff Green having a heart condition were confirmed today, as CSNNE.com reports that the Celtics forward will miss the entire ’11-12 season.
Green’s aortic aneurysm will require surgery, but doctors say he should be at full health for next season.

Green’s heart issues first came to light during a routine team physical on Dec. 9. At that time, an aortic aneurysm was detected.
Upon those findings, several follow-up tests were performed. And on Friday, a team of cardiac specialists were consulted.
From there, surgery was recommended which, according to team officials, should “completely repair” Green’s condition which would allow him to, “resume his NBA career next season.”
Good news is that the condition was detected before it turned into something tragic, and isn’t considered career-ending.
Boston will void Green’s one-year, $9 million contract, but the Celtics are still without cap room and very thin at backup SF/PF. The Cs will likely target a free agent—possibly James Posey or Travis Outlaw—in the near future.
