After a single season with the Texas Longhorns, center Jaxson Hayes will hire an agent and declare for the 2019 NBA Draft, a University of Texas press release states.
The 18-year-old center figures to be a lottery pick after establishing himself as a raw rim protector and currently sits in the No. 7 spot on Tankathon’s NBA Draft Big Board.
Hayes averaged 10.0 points and 2.2 blocks per game for the Longhorns in just 22.3 minutes of action. His 7’4″ wingspan will tantalize scouts as they start sizing up which players might be available in the late lottery.
Hayes was the Big 12 Freshman of the Year and is the son of former NFL player Jonathan Hayes.
