Angolan center Bruno Fernando intends to declare for the 2019 NBA Draft, a University of Maryland press release states. Fernando will join Terrapins teammate Anthony Cowan Jr. in hiring agents and gauging their draft stock.
While both could still return to Maryland, Fernando specifically figures to be a first-round pick and could possibly sneak into the lottery. The 6’9″ sophomore with a 7’3″ wingspan currently sits in the No. 13 spot on Tankathon’s NBA Draft Big Board.
Fernando averaged 13.6 points and 10.6 rebounds per game for the Terps but its his hypothetical ceiling that has scouts intrigued in the months leading up to the NBA Draft.
Fernando played high school basketball at both Montverde Academy and IMG Academy.
