Key Offseason Decisions
- Can Washington re-sign Davis Bertans before another team makes him a more lucrative offer? A couple of the cap space teams could really use Bertans but he seems to have found a home with the Wizards. Expect him to be back.
- Will Washington guarantee both Isaac Bonga and Anzejs Pasecniks? Bonga is a guarantee to be, well, guaranteed. He was a starter for most of the season and someone the Wizards see as part of their future. Given the relative lack of depth at center behind Thomas Bryant, and his $250,000 guarantee, expect Pasecniks to be back as well.
Projected Team Salary
$153,322,857
Because Washington only has Davis Bertans as a key free to re-sign, and they are so far under the luxury tax, they could be players in free agency. The Wizards could re-sign Bertans and use their full Non-Taxpayer MLE to fill out their rotation. With John Wall expected back to full health, and behind improvement from their young players, that should be enough to put Washington back in the playoff hunt. (@KeithSmithNBA)
Cap Space Forecast
-$44,182,857 (17th out of 30). $35,048,487 under the Luxury Tax.
