For the second consecutive season, the Golden State Warriors will be selecting in the lottery. Last season, they earned the No. 2 pick and selected center James Wiseman.
In the upcoming draft, they’ll draft at No. 7 (via Minnesota) and No. 14 overall.
For a team looking to compete now and worry less about the future, these future picks along with Wiseman make an enticing package for teams looking to get younger.
According to John Hollinger of The Athletic, there is a widespread expectation that the Warriors will explore the idea of using No. 7 and Wiseman to add talent in effort to build a roster that is more equipped to win now.
This makes complete sense, especially for a team that has a star trio of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson
Hollinger also reported that one name to watch as Golden State looks to bolster their roster is Pascal Siakam of the Toronto Raptors. Last season he averaged 21.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game at age 27.
Over the next month, the NBA should have quite a few shakeups, with the Warriors among the top of the list when it comes to teams who could make a splash.
