Among the top performers in NBA Summer League to this point has been Tyrese Maxey. As the best player for the Philadelphia 76ers, he’s averaged 26.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists through his two summer league games games.
Heading into his second NBA season, Maxey has the focus and determination to make a huge leap as a sophomore. His mindset has been getting incrementally better each day.
Maxey told Spencer Davies of BasketballNews.com and other reporters at NBA Summer League that his goal is to make every day great and improve by one percent.
“Proper preparation prevents poor performance. Every single day, find a way to get one percent better,” said Maxey.
Last season as a rookie in Philadelphia, he averaged 8.0 points and 2.0 assists per game. Maxey was the No. 21 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and has looked like a steal to this point.
