Kyle Lowry spent nine memorable playing for the Raptors, becoming a certified legend in Toronto after he played a pivotal role in winning the franchise its first-ever title in 2019.
The 36-year-old’s connection to the franchise and city is deep, so much so that Lowry intends to sign a one-day contract to retire as a Raptor when he decides to hang up his sneakers. It’s expected by most that Toronto will retire his jersey, and Raptors president Masai Uriji suggested a statue honoring the Villanova product is possible too.
Looking to the near future, Lowry will be getting a new road named after him in The 6, aptly named Kyle Lowry Road, according to David Rider of the Toronto Star.
