NBA Releases Second Half of 2020-21 Season Schedule

With the All-Star break less than two weeks away, the NBA has officially released the second half of the 2020-21 regular-season schedule. The season will start up again on Wednesday, March 10 and conclude on Sunday, May 16.

The League held off on releasing the second half schedule in order to grant themselves some flexibility during this Covid-19 season. The League and players agreed on a 72 game season back in December.

The second half of the season will return on March 10 with two games scheduled. The Wizards will head out on the road to play the Grizzlies, and the Spurs face the Mavericks in Dallas on NBA TV.

Along with the schedule announcement, the NBA has also finalized the dates for the Play-In tournament. The tournament will begin two days after the conclusion of the regular season, starting on May 18-21.

The format of the play-in games is as followed. The teams with the seventh-highest and eighth-highest winning percentages in both conferences will each have two opportunities to win one game to earn a playoff spot.

Then, teams with the ninth-highest and tenth-highest winning percentages in each conference will have to win two straight games to earn a playoff spot (per NBA.com).

The 2021 NBA playoffs are set to begin on Saturday, May 22 and run through Thursday, July 22.
