Taj Gibson has become a staple in New York after being an important player on and off the court over the past two seasons. After hitting free agency this summer, it appears he will be sticking around a bit longer.
As first reported by Ian Begley of SNY, Taj Gibson has agreed to a one-year, $2.7 million deal to return to the Knicks. While he isn’t as impactful of a player as some of their other signings over the past 24 hours, Gibson is an extremely important piece of the rocker as a locker room mentor.
Through two seasons with the Knicks, Gibson has started in 59 of his 107 games, averaging 5.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per contest. After a disappointing first round exit in the recent postseason, New York is looking to take the next step and have another successful season upcoming.
