The Sacramento Kings G League affiliate, the Stockton Kings, have hired former Kings guard Bobby Jackson as their new head coach, the team announced Thursday.
Sacramento tabbed the 2003 Sixth Man of the Year after two seasons as an assistant and players development coach under Luke Walton. Now, Jackson will have the opportunity to head a team that hasn’t played a game since early 2020.
Jackson made stops in Denver, Minnesota, Memphis, New Orleans, Charolette and Houston in his 12-year NBA career, averaging 10.6 points and 2.2 assists with the Kings.
After opting out of the G League bubble in Orlando, Jackson will get started with his new group in Stockton next season.
