The Houston Rockets have agreed to a deal with free agent big man DeMarcus Cousins, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. The deal is said to cover one year and is non-guaranteed.
Cousins will join a Rockets franchise in the midst of a transition period between regimes. Both of Houston’s biggest stars, James Harden and Russell Westbrook reportedly want out of town.
Regardless of the personnel that ends up surrounding him, the 30-year-old big man will get his opportunity to start turning the corner after three major lower body injuries in a span of two seasons.
Cousins is very close to returning to full strength following his ACL tear.
