Ever since the Los Angeles Lakers changed the NBA landscape by landing Russell Westbrook from the Washington Wizards on draft night, floor spacing and shooting has been a topic of concern during the offseason. Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer reports that LeBron James and Anthony Davis would be willing to slide into the front court positions at the power forward and center positions according to Klutch Sports CEO, Rich Paul.

The Lakers still need more shooting options when Westbrook, LeBron and AD share the floor together. The early offseason theory with this roster, is to slide James and Davis to the frontcourt to create room for a potential shooter to play the wing spot. Carmelo Anthony and Trevor Ariza are immediate options at the wing position allowing the Lakers the flexibility to play big or small depending on matchups.
If LeBron and AD stick to the plan, it could allow Westbrook to be the playmaker and make the Lakers’ transition game even more dominant than their championship year.
Even with reports that Davis will play more minutes at center, it’s still uncertain if it will be as a starter or for how long. Either way, Lakers head coach, Frank Vogel will have plenty of flexibility throughout the roster.
