Report: Sasha Vujacic Close to Signing a Deal in Turkey

For whatever reason, Turkey seems to be the preferred destination of several locked out NBA players. Sasha Vujacic reportedly has a deal on the table for next season. From the NY Post: “According to the Turkish website and newspaper, Milliyet, Vujacic is close to signing a deal with Anadolu Efes that would keep him overseas for a full season. Vujacic reportedly is considering playing in Turkey in the event of a lengthy NBA lockout, which will be two weeks old tomorrow. The Efes team is based in Istanbul where Deron Williams could be playing for Besiktas if the labor dispute drags on. One of the Nets’ draft-night acquisitions, Bojan Bogdanovic, who was the first pick in the second round, also will play in Istanbul for Fenerbahce. Vujacic came to the Nets in the three-team Terrence Williams deal in December, a deal that also brought the Lakers’ first-round pick which the Nets, with a little maneuvering, turned into Marshon Brooks on draft night. Vujacic made $5.475 million last season in the final year of his deal. His chances of returning to the Nets were not considered good, so Vujacic could be looking to head back to Europe.”
